project ive been working on since 2017 https://streamable.com/eom75q

Extended preview, been working on this since 2017. Showcase is of a most recent build.

Don't expect me to actively maintain this thread, I work on this slowly. I do show more on Discord bc thats where most of my activity is.
Why most controversial topics degrade - A lack of the ability to critically think. Its important. Don't they teach that stiff in public schools anymore?
- Not adhering to a set standard of criterion in fields that have just that.
- Logical fallacies, specifically making apeals to *insert classification here*.
- Defense Mechanisms kicking up when they should accept the fact that beliefs can be challenged and changed through effective argumentation. You do not own your beliefs because they are shared estimations among human beings about how the world works. You give up your beliefs when you lose.
- Coming to a discussion with no prior knowlege of the topic and opponent's position. Not only you have to research and post your findings, it helps that you make it availible for those who may want to get involved in the discussion at a later point in time. You also have to prove your findings that it adhered to a set of criterion that governs a field.
- Emotions are weighed too f***ing much over reasonable logic. This is why censorship is unjustly used to stifle discussion.
- Deciding that one person's position is worthless without proof or elaboration. Even if their argument is riddled with fallacies, either argue their point and expose what kinds of fallacies are used, or do not argue at all.
- Having the responsibility for the loser to pursue happiness. That is a conversation stopper akin to censorship used by the losing side to justify their position and demonize the winner when in fact that they are out of cards to play and in fact should concede their entire position to the winner.

This list took a while to make. If there are anything that needs "correcting", feel free to state what you have to say. After all, tis my observations that I could improve on by removing any skewing of what actually happened.
Backseat Gaming Oh, the ever-so-common practice of watching your friends or people you like play video games and providing commentary to the person playing the game, which is called "backseat gaming" in the gaming community, similar to how one sits in the passenger seats and tells the driver what maneuvers he should make...often times, labeling you as annoying.

Have you ever backseat gamed before, and have you been on the receiving end of people criticizing you for it?
Background spriting As it stands, its not a common venture for pixel artists like myself. I have seen it in only two hobbist games: My own Mysterious Islands, and SMW: All-Star Edition. Within the Rom-hack community. BMF's Super Mario Odyssey and Merthack's Super Mario Planet. Another series is the Devious Four Chronicles which I have gotten to know metalgearhunter and Scorpion well.

Any other spritees you came across that can do such a feat.
Commentary on forum situations NOTE: This thread is not to make fun of or smear any post that I see on the Internet. The purpose of the thread is to objectively post commentary of posts on other sites whose users are doing socially unacceptable things. You might learn a thing or two from this thread regarding the mistakes of others

Now then... http://www.supermariobrosx.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=5273

Hmm, one does not simply get to dictate [I]how[I] people should respond in his thread. Also, anything you post online is subject to criticism and you do not get to silence people who aren't speaking in a professional manner. At the same time, free speech does not automatically give you the right to have an opinion. Not to mention that you should not waste your time replying to bad criticism.

Current screenshots of a project Ill be working on/off (if I have the time and usually now, I do not) because college.

Most tileset and BGs used are handdrawn by S.C.O.R.P.I.O.N. that I have obtained permission to use, and which I want to experiment with in a setting that is other than SMW hacking.
Free does not mean exempt from criticism

This topic is primarily going to discuss about major corporations running social media services.

Its not okay for Google to constantly redesign YouTube layouts knowing that it'll have a negative impact on their customer base and dismiss those concerns. The same can be similarily said to many other corporations doing exactly as to what the person who wrote that article is complaining about.
Can someone tell me the problem with Churches in the face of rational authority? I'm not entirely knowledgeable on the subject, but I have heard mentions of churches being on the losing end of politics.
StrikeForcer's Level Design Philosopohy
I admit, my philosophy of Mario platformer level design changed a lot from just two years ago and that there are certain things I once agree I now disagree and vice versa, let alone a few constants.

Here are some to get the conversation rolling.

- The first level not only should introduce basic mechanics of the player, but should be expositional to the plot of your 2D Mario creation. Sequels have more or less a license to have their levels be a refresher course on what you learned from a previous game.
- All gimmicks need to be implemented non-threateningly at first.
- Later levels should be an evolution and mutation of basic ideas seen earlier.
- Environmental themes are mostly there for asthetical reasons, though I do not disagree that it should pose its own unique hazards.
- There has to be a clearly-defined point b, no matter how confusing or long they can get.
- Most effective nonlinearity happens when you give the player choices in how they want to maneuver over an obstacle.
- If a level is long, be sure to make it interesting and fair to the player to play on, otherwise, either make it shorter or split sections into their own levels.
- Levels that are higher than their world's difficulty should be either placed at the end of the world, be in on an alternate path, moved to another world, or have their difficulty nerfed.
- Kaizo levels have their own rules of play.
- The minimum number levels for each World should be 4 (one level has to have a World boss, if not, then it must end with an iconic structure.)

Level Design Experiment http://www.sendspace.com/file/wseqwa

So Im using Lu9's build of DE7 that was publically released. The purpose of this project is to self-evaluate my level design skills with regard's to Nintendo's standard of level progression in SMB, SMB2, SMB3, SMW as well as to test out random ideas I have before I see them to be used in other fangame projects of mine.
