Whoa hold on that's not a very good idea. I probably dislike their forums more than anyone else here (yeah I'm gonna go that far and say I dislike them the most for what they put me through loollo), but I wouldn't post something like that on their site it just doesn't seem like a good idea to me.

First of all, they weren't being rude to you, they actually provided a lot of good feedback. In fact their feedback is probably much better than that you'll get from MFGG or this forum. You need outside opinions. On MFGG you'll just be met with "Good job!" and "That is awesome!" even if your game or whatever needs work.

That 'comic' you drew, that is pretty immature. You overreacted and your posts are reminding me of something that a child would do in primary school. Children talk about people behind their backs and make fun of them for reasons like this. Just let it all go, learn to take criticism better and move on.

If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen.

I'm already fine with TSR now. It's just it drives me really frustrated after one user said my work is horrible and boring after I've been planning and working on it for couple of years. And speaking about the comic, I was drunk.

It's not so much that I haven't gotten over it (I pretty much just disregarded everything they said after I left), it's just that they just REALLY got to me back when I was there. They were destructive, rather than constructive, and over half the destructive posts were up-voted (which really aggravated me). They were very rude, arrogant, and practiced the "judge the book by its cover" saying.

They were bashing my work that I had spent over 2 years working on, and it left a lasting impression on me. I can and always will forgive, but the memory of how they treated me and my works will forever be burned into my brain, and reading about them doing similar stuff to other peoples' games brings back my memories of all that went on.

And I'll just stop talking about it now, I don't like being in this state of mind...

The average TSR user is more skilled than the average MFGGer, and TSR's community often provides some very helpful advice. While they have a higher potential for drama than MFGG, that's just life - all people are jerks sometimes, and a few people act like jerks all the time. Sure, they went overboard with their criticism in certain topics, but that doesn't mean all of their advice is without merit.

Of course, those topics also demonstrate why I try to be careful with the way I respond to new members - even when declining horrible submissions on the MFGG main site. No one can count the number of bodies of promising game makers and artists that have been left behind on the battleground of destructive criticism.

Ah, TSR.


I signed up there to become a better spriter, and to be completely honest, they helped me out a lot. My spriting style has improved greatly just from learning their basic techniques, and in general, they had some pretty good criticism. They also suggested that I change my avatar, because it was just a crappy Geno recolor, and I even started making designs for a new avatar, but in the end I decided against it - it'd just be a little weird if I changed my avatar after all these years, and to be honest, I find it kind of funny - kind of in the same vein as Crappy Blue Luigi's avatar. And to it's credit, I'm not just straight-up recoloring Geno - each drawing of him is lovingly made from scratch.


Meanwhile, back on topic: good GOD, these people have no souls when it comes to fangaming. I mean, seriously, supernova's fangames are not only well-programmed but fun and addicting as well, and I couldn't believe some of the things they said about it.

Not sure bumping this topic but I felt better in TSR recently. Some fellows do helps me a lot on drawings. And that's why you have seen improvements on my arts.

The reason TSR has a dislike for Mario fangames is due to the constant use of hello engine without making much modifications to the engine. and before you say anything about Mario Fusion, that was before hte hello clone invasion, which has more or less been nearly stamped out.

I don't want to say anything bad about TSR's community but I think they might unintentionally come off as elitist since they seem tight knit (kind of same situation with Minus World really)
