Other words that come to mind: adult, ask, authority, borrow, February, maturity, nuclear, nuptial, often, parliament, respite, suite, template, and Tuesday. You could also ask whether people prefer "sneak" or the monstrosity "snuck," and whether you stomp your feet or stamp them. And thanks for making me realize that I sound like a native German speaker - perhaps a few tweaks will make the next go-round sound more fluent and natural. Relearning how to speak English is so much fun.

Until Dustin replied, it had been quite a while since I'd thought about this topic. When I recorded myself in 2012, it was the first time I'd heard an audio recording of myself since I was 7 years old (excluding clips of 2-3 seconds in length). I wasn't exactly pleased with the way it turned out, and I was genuinely concerned because I was about to begin a Principles of Public Speaking class (a class that few people look forward to taking). I find it amusing that at the time I was still giving some serious thought to majoring in Communications, which, in retrospect, probably wouldn't have been the best choice for me. Realizing that I wasn't the best speaker on the planet undoubtedly played a part in my educational plans, although it's also true that I was still very much on the fence about my long-term educational goals back in 2012.

I was going to share a new excerpt of Hear Vinny Say Things, but it turns out I didn't need to record it in advance, so you'll have to settle for this post instead.

I'd always wanted wondered what Strike would sound like. Maybe this is totally out of left field, but I wonder if you'd be a really good singer with a bit of training.

I used to have a better voice when I was in elementary school and did perform one time. Now I don't know.
