Mr. Pibb
Posted on: Yesterday @ 6:22 pm
Back in the 90s when I was a kid, you could find a soda called Mr. Pibb. It was created by the Coca-Cola company in the early 1970s, inspired by Dr Pepper. By the time MFGG was founded in mid-2001, Coke had replaced Mr. Pibb with a variant called Pibb Xtra. It was pretty good, too, but a bit different. Lately, Coke has lost the rights to produce Dr Pepper in some parts of the US, and so they've re-introduced Mr. Pibb for sale. I've got a can on my desk and it's pretty good.
There are two versions I can find. The first is the regular Mr. Pibb that has corn syrup as a sweetener, and the second is the Zero Sugar which is what it says it is. Both of them have significantly more caffeine than I remember. They used to not print the caffeine content of a drink on the can, so I'm going by the internet here, but I think they increased it from 40 to 54mg a can. I think I'd rather have the Zero Sugar flavor these days, but I've tried both and they're good.
This post brought to you by too much caffeine and not enough Mega Man 11 playtime today.

It probably doesn't do what you think it will.
November 2025 dev topic

This is fireball3k. I suppose I'm one of the devs, even though I'm not familiar with the underlying JaxBoards software from an engineering standpoint. The forums work pretty well, from a user's perspective. There were some spambots, but this is hardly a problem we haven't seen before.
I like the idea of Nite's "What the HELL are you listening to?!" topic a lot. I also appreciated reading Vinny's Final Fantasy VIII topic. Finally, I have included a poll, asking an age old question: does pineapple belong on pizza?
Fist of the North Star fighting game

Recently, I got Developer Mode working on my Xbox Series X. The short of this is that, while I now have to send my optional data to Microsoft, I can also run emulators and other such sideloaded apps on the thing. Suffice it to say that it's pretty d*** cool. I went straight for RetroArch and a standalone PlayStation 2 emulator, bought a 128GB pen drive, and put a bunch of games on the thing. Among the games I picked was a 2D fighter from maybe 2006 or so based on the show Fist of the North Star. I've never seen the anime, but I've seen some of the memes, and this game is pretty much a meme in and of itself. I'm not good enough at the game to be able to do a combo like this, but you can do some really cool looking infinite combos if you are skilled.
The game was developed by Arc System Works, the same dev who made another fighting game, Guilty Gear. Some of their other fighting games have also been pretty busted, but this one takes the cake for me. That's why I love it, though. More bugs makes game more fun.

Sometimes I like to have this video on in the background, but mostly because I'm a Colts fan. This is the Super Bowl that happened a few weeks after I turned 17, which is to say I'm an old f*** now.
My only wish for this current season is that the Colts make it to the Super Bowl again

fireball3k here. No significant issues to report with the forum software off the top of my head.
Bibby Team runs as it should. Check the front page of bibbyteam.com for an updated homepage.
Active development has slowed down, but that's OK. As long as the site works ok and I can s***post every so often without getting an error, I think this is fine.
Eternal mall

I'm not from Jacksonville, but Vinny's been one of my best friends for about 13-15 years, so I heard about how Regency Square is going to close. I wish malls would make a comeback, and they well could even in the days of online shopping. In the meantime, a VHS-esque clip of some malls with vaporwave music ought to scratch this itch for me
Seriously, malls should make a comeback. No, they're not as convenient as online shopping, but you could make a whole attraction out of a mall with food and shops and video games and all the other s*** they had back in the day.
Flea markets

Anyone here visit flea markets? I like to go to them after work sometimes, and I even buy stuff from them.
Where else am I going to get OG Xbox games, CDs, and other physical media in 2025?
Nintendo test carts

Someone uploaded a clip of some of the cartridges Nintendo used to diagnose issues when repairing consoles. It's nothing too special considering they've been available for a while, but it's still pretty neat to me.
