Summer reading lists? I am a teacher so I do stock up a bit from about January on with books I hope to read over the summer.

This year the reading is thick, not fun, but giving me motivation to go back and work with kids.

Read:
Lost in Las Vegas (not very good...but mindless) by Avery Cardoza

Reading:
The Divide by Matt Taibbi
Whatever it Takes by Paul Tough
Kentucky Ham by William Boroughs Jr (Beside book)
Discipline by B. Brazelton
Hunter by E. Jean Carol (bathroom reading!)

To Read:
Mindset by Carol Dweck (Need to restart)
How Children Succeed by Paul Tough (Need to restart)
Ham by William Boroughs Jr.
Instant Influence by Michael Pantalon
Touchpoints Birth to Three by B. Brazelton
Allow me to vent about Star Trek Into the Darkness It was fine I guess. Not my thing but okay none-the-less.

Two things I found most irritating.

1. When bargaining w/ Khan for the safety of his crew (at this point Capt.) Spock reminds Khan that if he destroys the Enterprise then Khan's crew would be destroyed. Khan says he would disable the Enterprises' life support system and retrieve the crew after everyone had suffocated, as Khan's crew didn't rely on oxygen.

At this point Spock could have said and reasoned that instead of suffocation he would detonate all missile in the Enterprise to assure a quick death for the SS crew and use the destruction of Khan's as a bargaining chip.

I am not sure if that is in Spock's morality though. Or h could have also said that he would then replace Khan's crew and cryogenically freeze the Enterprise crew (at that point a much smaller crew than when they began their voyage.

If you hold a bargaining chip then use it.

Next, why did they assume they needed Khan's blood when they had 72 other super-Khan-like weirdos to take blood from?

Come on son.

Why these things occurred to me.... no idea.

Melo to Golden St Warriors rumor The report also mentions a possible trade of Klay Thompson and Lee to the New York Knicks for Carmelo Anthony.

I am all in favor of this! Phil would really be pulling off a nice one if he got this done.
Steve job's widow just visited my class for 45 minutes. Two months ago Zuckerberg's wife visited... now Job's wife.

They came in and my kids did their best to charm them.

Who knows what it will lead to...if anything.

However, my kids went nuts when I told them who she was (after she left).

Perks of working in the Bay area.
Donald Sterling's racist soliloquy Do the players and Doc have an obligation to take a position?

This guy is now a cancer for the league. I wonder if is says anything about the reach of the league in that most sport's outlets this morning didn't have a peak of this on their sites. Huffington Post had a link to TZM.

Sterling is an awful human and needs to die... I hope their ticket sales die and I would like to see Magic's Dodgers do a Clipper ticket exchange.
That Bulls/Wiz game last night was great Not an offensive threat but always moving and trying to open the floor.

Always in the mix for a ball on the floor or in the air....

The refs allow him to play the game it should be played. Yes, he fouled out last night but they still don't allow many other players to play that physically.. and it is to the detriment of the game's quality.

Student's poster for their gallery show Nevermind... sorry

Knicks are the only team who is playing only winning teams The Hawks are right on their heals and have half of their games against losing teams.

But, the Knicks are playing as well as they have all season and should make things entertaining during the last six games.... that is more than it looked like they would do this season.

So, I am happy.
