AOL is discontinuing dial-up (Post) My thoughts more or less echo those already shared. It is indeed the end of an era, and I too am surprised it was still being offered so recently. That's wild, man.

AOL was my gateway to the internet for quite a while. AIM was my jam for the longest time, too.
Post your dreams (Post) For some reason I was dreaming that I was in a classroom in what looked like the 1970s and it was so uncomfortable. There were two male teachers and they were loving up on a couple of the female students. I quickly had enough and stood up and said "you teachers are f'ing creeps, seriously" and a nerdier looking student close to me backed me up.

It's weird because when I was in school my favorite teachers were male, and none of them were even remotely creepy; they were awesome dudes. I have no idea where this came from.
I now have a banjo (Post) That's pretty cool! I'm glad you rescued the poor thing.
Post your dreams (Post) I just had a bunch of long wild dreams, but I can only remember one small part of one of them. I do remember that they were all fun, though!

There was a minigame involving a cat minefield. There was this little open room you were in and it was filled with cats. Some cats were safe to touch, but some would start ticking down from 4 (flashing orange each time, each tick lasting a second) and then explode after you made any contact with them. The cat would be sort of frozen in time while it was ticking down, so it'd stick in whatever state it was in when you touched it. The cats were all very friendly so it was almost impossible to not touch the ones closest to you. The objective was to survive as long as possible.

The explosions weren't gory or gross, they were like videogame bomb explosions.

In this same dream, I read a magazine or newspaper article about how you could now go to Disney World and see a psychoanalyst who would tell you what he thought your dreams meant.
I'd love to see what one would have to say about this one.
Post your dreams (Post) My most recent memorable dream is short and not-super-sweet, but you might find it funny.

I was trying to get away from a zombie that was violating my personal space. It wasn't trying to kill or eat me or anything; it just kept getting too close for comfort. I had a superpower where I could generate vines to grapple away with, but so did the zombie, so I didn't get to have much fun with that.
hi (Post) howdy hey hi
Scammers are getting smarter (Post) Ah, humanity's finest at work.

My dad recently fell for one of these and we were lucky that nothing came of it; he gave up an incorrect password to the fake login screen. (I do have 2FA enabled for him but given how I've seen things unfold on a certain other website, I'm sure a compromised password by itself would be more than enough to bring serious trouble.)

Always keep your guard up. Keep your guard so up that you keep your less technical friends and family informed, too.
March 2025 dev update (Post) Excellent stuff. Seeing the forum icon bug fixed is seeing the end of an era.

I feel conflicted about the removal of the Full Edit button. On one hand, I remember using that a lot, and I like having the option. On the other, I got that blanked post bug a lot too!

One thing seems to still be a bit fuzzed; times, perhaps? I cannot for the life of me mark the posts I just made as read. Check the topic? Still will show as unread when I go back to the listings. Click the big forum icon that marks everything read? That post still hasn't been seen yet, according to the forum.
New profile fields, bug fixes, and more! (Post) I've said it elsewhere already but it will do no harm to say it again: It's wonderful seeing Jaxboards 2.0 be a thing. Great stuff.

Suggestion for a feature: Time zone adjustment. That doesn't seem to be a thing, or at least I can't find it if it is.

On the note of time, new posts seem to have incorrect times.
We're back (really) (Post) IT LIVES

This is fantastic.
