AOL is discontinuing dial-up (Post) Same here, really. We didn't start getting broadband in my area until I was in high school or so. I kind of wonder if I can still get dial-up internet access in 2025 anywhere.


Not that I need it, what with how data plans are everywhere now, but still. Might be enough to use Lynx or some other text-only browser to read, but not much else.

AOL is discontinuing dial-up (Post) I had AOL growing up. Surprised to know they still offered dial-up... I remember using AIM to talk to MFGG people back in the day. AOL became the purview of old people at some point, but hey... using a forum in 2025, I get how they felt. I'd imagine smartphones took over AOL's market for the old people that are still left.

I go to the arcade on Sundays. They have an 18 Wheeler: Pro American Trucker arcade machine there. It's a racing game where you drive a big rig, and it only felt right I put on country music while trying not to crash the d*** thing.

I had a dream some time ago where I was in a private Discord group I run with some IRL friends, but one of the members of Club Saturn had been invited. It wasn't Dustin, although I think he'd mesh well with some of the guys I know. I don't have many people in that group, so I felt like it was turning into something it wasn't and felt anxious. Then I woke up, checked my Discord, and breathed a sigh of relief. I think I'm a bit more closed off of a person than I ought to be, which might explain the paranoia, but still... it was someone I don't know that well from CS, so why would I be letting them into a group of people I know really well?
