Super Mario: The quest for the stolen golden Kuribo's shoe
The new Dazzle Games project (taking a quick break off SPBW)

Engine Demo v0.35a download (latest):
Download from Host-a.net, click here!
Older versions:
Engine Demo v0.2
MFGG Minigame Comp. entry

Story:
King Goomba went to princess Peach to complain about his most valueable treasure being stolen: the big Golden Kuribo's shoe. The first, and only shoe owned by king Goomba the third, otherwise known as King Kuribo. The princess really doesn't mind about it, she's way too busy watching a new season of "Jersey Shore". So, she sends Mario to take care of the problem. But, Mario is a week late. The Goombas are raising up against the princess, and destroying all sorts of stuff in the Mushroom Kingdom. And now it's up to Mario to fix all this, and get the legendary Golden Kuribo's Shoe back!

Changelog:
05-05-2011:
Added Koopas (not shown in latest demo), added better block collission, added sinbass.dll, and some awesome music. New demo is now available!
04-05-2011:
Fixed moving outside the room, and reduced the disappear-time of the stomped goombas. Also, I added a spawn pipe, wich can spawn anything I want it to spawn (feel the power :monkey:)

ADDED RUNNING (Most requested feature EVAR)
03-05-2011:
Uploaded the version 0.2 demo, wich contains the new health and HUD system. Also, Goombas and question blocks where added.
02-05-2011:
Added Mushrooms and Coins, fixed the "floating Mario against the wall" glitch
01-05-2011:
Started from scratch again, using parts from the SPBW engine :D
30-04-2011:
Created a short version of the game (real short) for the MFGG minigame Comp. Game can be downloaded HERE. Beware of crappy gameplay!

I'm liking the visual style thus far. I know the sprites aren't super-polished, but I like the Late Night Mario-like look.

OK, so it was a little bit corny. Still, not bad for something you made in a few hours, though - it's better than most of what you see on the MFGG main site, in fact. I'll do a mini-review later.

Yeah, the gameplay wasn't super-polished, but the game was worth a laugh. I'll be playing the other MGC entries in a few minutes.

Bump, for letting people know I've updated the first post. It now contains the story overview and a download for the new engine demo (v0.2)

(this is one of the legal ways to bump, right?)
Edit:
Nevermind that last thing, read your new post now :P

Yeah, it's fine to bump topics when you're making useful additions to the original post. I'll check out the new version.

One problem is you can walk outside the boundary of the room and get stuck. And the Goomba should disappear a bit more quickly after getting stomped.
