This only applies to people who have YouTube channels. Have YouTube asked you to use your real name as your channell name? Personally, I find that annoying.

Same with me. I elected to use my real name on the alternate account I set up specifically for a speech class, but not on my "main" account (which I don't use much either).

As long as they don't get too pushy about it, I have no problem with YouTube asking if I want to use my real name, because there are some times in which it would make sense to use your real name instead of a screen name.

Well, YouTube is gone downhill since the new interface. And yet, it's very annoying to me too.

if youtube keeps going downhill at this rate then im just gonna go tell them to go f*** themselves and delete my account.

as long as they dont force it on us, youtube is fine.
I bet if it is forced, an alternative to youtube will be used instead,

pretty sure if you link it with your google+ (which is something theyve also been pushing), due to google+'s tos or whatever you gotta use the real names

idk i have an account that doesnt have a channel set up or anything like that anymore- doesn't let me upload videos or comment videos but i can hit the like button and look at my liked videos so its cool

although there are other video sharing alternatives of course. i think vimeo is good?

Before I deleted my old YouTube account it was asking me every so often to switch to using my real name. None of the reasons they listed when they asked why I didn't want to do it were valid; a simple case of "don't want to" was nowhere to be seen. Not really a problem if I'm ever forced to do it, though.

My new one is linked and I'm not forced to use my username. I was able to switch to using my username from the new default setting of using my real one.
