Sounds groovy. How many levels/chapters do you plan to include?

No more than 6 chapters, at least 4 worlds in each. Roughly 128 levels (some with more than 1 room or sections), not including the ones from SML2 and the final chapter, which will be a mixture of SMW, Yoshi's Island, and some original ideas :P

This is why I've been wanting level designers so bad lol. I admit it's rather ambitious, so I'll probably end up putting it on hold in a couple months and then pick it back up not long after (implying no one ever helps me with level design XP).

And on fusion fangaming and mfgg =P

128 levels is overly ambitious for a game that's being made by a single developer. I think a goal of 30-40 diverse, high-quality levels would be a better plan.

Since this is one of the more promising Mario platformer fangames in development, I might be able to offer a few ideas for level design. Key word: might.

Man yeah, you ain't kidding. I didn't think it all the way through when I started, but the first chapter IS done, so that's a decent start I suppose XP I'm trying to make the levels high quality; I'm spending a lot of time making them, and like I mentioned earlier, I'm even redesigning some to make them more enjoyable and attractive.

Level design help would be very awesome, but if you can't that's all right =P I'd rather people give me a straight up "no" or say they "might but don't count on it" then say "sure I think I'll do a few" and never do a thing (there have been several who have done this already, and it's very frustrating XP)

What I'm hoping is that once all the testing for chapter one is done, following chapters will be easier since a lot of the really big, gameplay-hindering bugs will have surely been found and squashed. (I've come across a laundry-list and fixed nearly every single one since I started testing)

Speaking of levels, I have another set of screenshots:

Whoa, lotsa screens this time :P

Those screenshots look pretty good, but for future reference, some of the screens have similar tiles and backgrounds, and they tend to blend in with one another. Adding borders between each screen (an example) would make them easier to process.

And yes, that is indeed frustrating. Beware of well-meaning souls who offer to help but are unlikely to pull their weight. There's a reason I included a warning about unreliable teammates in one of my Wiki tutorials.
