Kesha : my main worries about the death penalty are that innocent people can (and do) end up with it as the system is now, and that i'd like to believe anyone can reform
Kesha : idk how i feel about it honestly, its kinda a deeper issue than what it seems like
Kesha : but uhh, yeah i definitely wouldn't prefer it
Kesha : like i don't think I'd advocate it as a good penalty against anyone

I really don't like the idea of using any kind of punishment for revenge purposes, so while I can understand why victims and their families would advocate for the maximum possible punishment for criminals, I don't think it's the most responsible way to go.

I don't think capital punishment is ever right. First of all, it doesn't work - the states and countries where it's most commonly practiced are the places that have the highest murder rates. Another problem is I believe that government should be the "good guy" in society - and it's awfully hard to wear the white cowboy hat when you're killing people (except out of self-defense). And even if you believe capital punishment is appropriate in certain cases, I don't see how it could dispensed in a fair manner - because the American judicial system is anything but fair.
Course clear! You got a card.

well I think capital punishment is really an easy way out- not for the criminal, but for the system that's using it. It's a way to try and deal with a "problem" (a living, breathing human being) without actually dealing with it at all and just "removing" it.
