I mailed this to the webmaster of Softpedia:

D-Dazzle
Hello,My fangame (SPBW: Bowser's SkyRun), as seen on your website, has been uploaded without giving me (the author) credit. I'd like to suggest removing the game from your database, or fixing the author in the game's description.

Proof that the game is made by D-Dazzle, and not 'greecity2011':
http://forums.mfgg.net/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=12824 (Announcement topic)
http://www.mfgg.net/index.php?act=resdb¶m=02&c=2&id=25812 (Official MFGG Download)
Topic #417 (Official topic on the BibbyTeam forums)
http://games.softpedia.com/get/Freeware-Games/SPBW-Bowser-s-Sky-Run.shtml (Page on your website, which states the game was made by 'greecity2011')

I'm waiting for your response.

Kind regards,

Jeffrey Wirtz

they probably just contact the email address provided on mfgg- if you don't put one up, or have changed it since then, they're not going to have a way of contacting you.

does MFGG have a message like "contact the submitter if you want to redistribute the files" or something like that? If not, I'm guessing the people at softpedia assume stuff is free to distribute as long as you give credit

do you guys share license info with your games? such as do not redistribute without permission or whatever? If not this might be a good wake-up call to start doing so- softpedia seems pretty harmless, but it's still good to license your work on the terms you want to, rather than having people assume

Only mainsite administrators can see the e-mail address you first registered with on MFGG. However, many members choose to make their e-mail addresses (or MSN/WL or AIM account) visible, so if you have those publicly available, Softpedia will be able to notify you. If your e-mail isn't posted, though, Softpedia will have no way of contacting you.

Personally, I don't care what people do with my games as long as they don't edit or plagiarize them. However, if you're concerned about this sort of thing (especially if you're a more serious indie developer), you might want to start including some kind of license (even if it's simple like "Please contact me before redistributing this game").

Also, I'd almost forgotten Marioy 2 was uploaded on Softpedia back in 2009. I wonder why it wasn't until now that they added my more recent games.
Course clear! You got a card.

well it might not matter to everyone, but I'm sure it's still better to license things on your terms rather than have it under assumed terms- sometimes common sense courtesy doesn't really exist on the internet
