it might be fair to have a warning for .exe's but it makes it out like unknown exe files are always going to be extremely dangerous
i mean, it's basically like, "we don't know what this is, so make sure you nuke everything" lol

I think you misunderstand;
I'm not criticizing your choice of using this program, run whatever you want, it's your machine after all. (or, if it's not, it's certainly not my machine) i'm talking about the design choice of programs like these operating like this; if you don't want to discuss it, that's fine, don't |

It's a s***ty "feature" many antivirus programs have and it's called heuristics. Heuristics scans basically flag files as viruses if they see them as suspicious (by their standards) in any way.
In this case, an EXE file they've never seen is considered suspicious. EDIT: Oh. Kesha basically explained it already. Oh well. |

I have AVG as my antivirus, and it just automatically quarantines and destroys those unzipped .exe files. I have to disable my antivirus for the time being if I would like to play unzipped games, which is pretty annoying.
Usually people just take the 4 seconds to zip the game, so most .exe games are, no offense, or extremely bad and newbish games made by someone new, or a demo game. EDIT: Wtf Mason, a mermaid? Lol.
