I know you want Mysterious Islandz to be a difficult game, but Level 2 is too difficult for a level this early in the game - especially if you intend to make MI as long as you've planned. Level 1 is a reasonable difficulty for a hard game, but the difficulty curve takes quite a drastic spike upwards in Level 2. As I recall, having to toss around Ice Blocks is especially annoying.

I was going to replay Levels 1 and 2 and give you more detailed feedback, but the current version posted on the NCFC booth doesn't run on my computer. Right after the game loads, I receive an error about defining an external function. I didn't have this problem with the version I played on August 25.

That's strange. I know other members who played my game and they said it runs fine. Though I do know that this error exists as I have gotten it on occasion, otherwise game runs fine with music playing and all. (and this is from a guy who has vgstream dlls in the proper folder and in System32 for computer to recognize to run)

They'll be there mid-late game.

MI's development is still going slow due to college but I do have a small preview of something that I was working on from 2015. A preview of a late game level's gfx that I am currently making.

Nice creepy dungeon-y place. The single block in the center might look more natural if the surrounding tiles weren't quite so rounded, though.

Well, as it is, it looks to me like there's a loose brick resting in a shallow pit in the ground, rather than a brick that's embedded in the dirt. But that might be the effect you're going for. It's not a huge deal either way.

Also, the skulls don't look much like human skulls, unless they're wearing some kind of funeral mask. Again, if that's the intended effect, don't worry about it.

I updated the skulls yesterday. Also accompanying tileset to go along with this theme.

These skulls on the ground definitely look a lot more like human skulls now.

I'm having a bit of a hard time figuring out how the other skulls got impaled by bent spears sticking out of the ground, though. I guess they're General Creepy Trophy Things and the spears got bent at some point during the history of this Creepy Dungeon Place.
