BG Art, No, we're not spriting Backgrounds

Note: the initials BG refer to my character. My true name is not Borris Galumphritte.

Not nearly as impressive as the original Late Night Mario sprite (to the right), but nonetheless... I hope it pleases the fans just a little bit. I don't know if I'm finished with it yet... It's impossible to edit flawless work and keep it that way.

Feedback would be nice, since I didn't get any on MFGG.

Oh, this too.

Again, you did a good job of the resizing part, but now it looks like Mario's wearing really long jeans that cover his shoes, rather than in the original, where the sprites were made to look as if he didn't have feet at all.

I was actually aiming for that. That's how I imagined the original sprite, since there is a slight bulge at the end of the overalls.

I know this is a little off-topic, but I'm working on an original game that uses higher-resolution sprites than most Game Maker games. Tell me if you'd be interested in contributing a few sprites or tiles - I could always use a bit more help there.

If I understand what you're saying, you'd like me to take the sprites and make them bigger like Cave Story Wii? Or do you mean just making custom sprites for your game?

PM me some info on the game, and I'll see if I'm interested on doing a few. Better yet, maybe we could set a time to chat (either on the chat box or chatango)?

Well, it's an original game with custom, relatively high-resolution sprites. I'll make a topic for the game itself, just because I've been meaning to do that. If you'd like to chat, I could make that happen - the best way to do it would probably be the forum's nifty built-in IM feature.

Super Mario Kun, what a great manga. Tough talking plumbers, foul mouthed dinosaurs... oh, and Bowser is always happy for some reason.

Is that something you made yourself? If it isn't, I'd like to split that into its own topic because it has little to do with anything else in the topic.

OK, I see - I first interpreted the title as "background art" rather than "Blue Guy Art." The basic style of the sketch reminds me of the original Mario Bros. arcade game.
