"It was a lengthy, setback-laden struggle watched by a city of increasingly curious people. But on Sunday, Hanoi's legendary urban turtle, Cu Rua, was finally captured in the capital's central Hoan Kiem Lake. The 440-lb. (200 kg) creature, widely considered to be a deity that has protected the city for hundreds of years, was caught by dozens of Vietnamese soldiers after a first attempt to take the turtle in for medical treatment last month failed."

A little old, but it's this month's news at least.
The history and legend of the turtle god is pretty interesting, and sounds like it could be incorporated into a nice piece of fictitious literature (not saying the original story isn't true). More information on this rare species of turtle and the legend can be found on Wikipedia. I hope the turtle lives.
Oh boy...

Kind of interesting anyway. Sounds like a character in a video game RPG.
