I had a dream about needing to use the restroom, but the restroom just wasn't having it.

I was at some public restaurant and really needed to go do #2. So I went to the restroom and noticed that the lights weren't really on. There was enough light to barely see what things were, but it wasn't enough to comfortably do the full deed. The bathroom was very futuristic-themed. Instead of a lightswitch, there was a group of touch-panel lights and a touchscreen CRT TV. The top touch panel was supposedly the light control. Unfortunately, upon pressing the panel, the voice of Andy Field (the guy that voiced the hand unit in Sister Location and various other guides in those games) spoke to me and said "Not so fast! You must first type in the pass code. Touch the other panels for more information." You had to solve a puzzle before you were allowed to turn on the lights. I somehow got the code, "10101," but when I went to input it on the screen it didn't want to let me type it. The touch screen on the little TV was being aggravating, not reading my finger positions correctly or at all. Eventually I got the code put in but then when I hit the top panel to turn on the lights, "Not so fast! Your code has expired, and a new one needs to be generated. Touch the other panels for more information."

My dream then transitioned to another one, but I don't remember that one.

That sounds like it'd be a good idea for a short game. You have to go #2, but you have to answer number puzzles like that before your bowels decide to blow.
Find my music here!!

Friendly Dictator

So what can be superior when compared with paying out half the price for brand name children?

wow, if brand name children are on sale, maybe i can stop buying all these cheap knockoff children

OK... even I'll admit that the Oakland Raiders' performance might be a valid reason to use the interesting words.

@Miles Ha, 2FA meets restroom lighting!

Last night, I dreamed that my mom worked for the power company and got me an internship there. She showed me how to do a maintenance task on power poles - the correct safety steps to take, and how to replace a certain part that needed replacing. None of it really makes any sense at all, for a whole bunch of reasons.

Later in the dream, I was in the garage at a house that resembled my old house. Across the street, there was a live band in someone's driveway, and they were playing an eclectic selection of music, including rock, rap, gospel, and jazz. Everyone started dancing when they played the jazz piece. The band included a black guy named Jackson and a white guy who didn't have a name.

After the music + dance party was over, I was playing a Mario Kart game in the garage. The track was based on the F-1 track in Tuscany but was lumpy and bumpy in places (think Wario Stadium). It was very glitchy - the HUD showed I was leading when I crossed the finish line, but the final results screen said I had finished a minute and a half behind the seventh-place driver.

I don't have much experience with ROM hacks, but I turned off the Mario Kart game and started playing some kind of SMB3 (specifically, the All-Stars version) ROM hack. The first level was easy and straightforward, while the second level descended into full-blown Kaizo territory - it started with a series of Donut Lifts over a pit that require squat-jumping because of the overhead ceiling.

Apparently a girl was watching me play - it was someone my mom taught a couple of decades ago. It's unclear how or why she showed up. Her name was Paige (the real girl's middle name), and she said she had a "crush" on the allegedly awesome game I was playing! I don't think she was ever too interested in video games, especially ridiculously tough ROM hacks, but I'm not sure - she seems to keep a low profile on social media, and I don't know anyone who's encountered her since she was in elementary school.

A month or two ago, I dreamed about one of my old classmates from a college Chemistry class I took in 2012. This dream took place several years before I ever met her (maybe 2007 or 2008?). I still lived at my old house, and she was a student at the high school near said house. One day she got finished with a tennis match (she was a high school tennis player in this alternate timeline) and walked right into my house and started using Microsoft Word on the old Windows XP computer. She never asked if this was OK - she just waltzed in and started working on her homework or whatever.

I haven't heard from this young lady since I finished my chem class, so I'm not quite sure what made me think of her.

A few days ago, I dreamed that my family and I went to the Czech Republic* - by car! I remember driving over an old arched stone bridge in my dream. Curiously, a few days later, two different people were talking to me about Czech things.

* Or Czechia, which seems to be their preferred name nowadays.

I had a weird dream that went on for a bit, and I woke up from it feeling physical repercussions! This would be the second time that happened recently. I might have to post the first time here too if I can remember enough of it or find where else I typed it up.

So, in this dream, I had just watched a video of a VR online shooter I wanted to play that was similar to a real one I've played that I liked.

Now I was actually playing it, and some weird things started lining up - one of the dudes in the video was against me and was doing some of the exact same moves, and I was trying to altar what seemed like set history, and I was very curious how there was already video of something that hadn't even happened yet. I could hear him in proximity chat saying the same stuff he said before.

I was unable to prevent my "trickshot" death because I got distracted by an attack dog that was hard to hit (it was a Chihuahua).

Then the dream jump cuts to a sort of tournament lobby where a bunch of players are preparing to team up and take on their competition, but I'm hearing a bunch of them talk about their fans (some were streamers) already knowing the outcome. Someone was complaining that they'd already seen someone play on a certain map for a tournament before, but the person in question had never actually set foot on it before, it was tourny exclusive and this was their first one.

At that point I let everyone know - "guys, don't panic, we're in the middle of a time paradox."

And then everything goes straight to crap.

The lobby is suddenly no longer a multiplayer game lobby, we're all physically there instead.

Gravity centralizes within everyone; we don't float away from our spots, we just rise up a tiny tiny bit into the air and get stuck where we are.

There is this pervasive constant static-like sound. Vision of everything is mildly distorted, as if everything was covered in black heatwaves.

A few people just vaporize into red mist straight away, while others seem to just shake violently. Some turn into question mark orbs.

While this is going on I feel this overwhelming sense of heat (but not red-hot heat, just like... extreme warmth) wash over me. I also felt like I was being slightly compressed. I also felt like my life was ending. It was a universe destroying paradox, after all.

Then I wake up and am still feeling those same physical sensations (thankfully not the feeling of life endage), but they faded away after a bit.

Miles dreams never fail to entertain. I think I might panic if it was brought to my attention that I was in the middle of a time paradox, though - no one's ever told me what to do or how to behave during one of those, after all.

A couple of nights ago, I dreamed that someone I know had a baby donkey (or a foal, if you like more official terminology). This baby donkey was in my backyard, and it caused a wee bit of mischief. It grabbed a red pepper that it wasn't supposed to eat, and it licked the window. It was dangerously cute.

A couple of nights ago, I dreamed that I was watching reruns of Full House on TV. This is not something I do terribly often. The episode seemed to be from one of the last two seasons of the show's original run, but the opening sequence included several new characters who were never on the show. For example, one character was played by someone named Elena. This make-believe actress Elena shared the same full name as the Elena I know in real life, but she bore no physical resemblance to anyone I know.

In this dreamy rerun, the Tanner family took a vacation to Los Angeles to watch a big professional cycling race. Parts of the episode were shot on location, but the show also used a lot of stock video footage from Brazil. This cycling race was different from traditional cycling in that the cyclists were pursued by giant spined balls (think metal Spiny Eggs) that would chase after them and bowl over slower cyclists. These obstacles purportedly possessed the ability to warp to other parts of the course.

Later in the dream, I was back in real life... except it bore little resemblance to my actual life. My late grandmother was still with us in this timeline. I think it was Christmas evening, and my family was playing cards in a mobile home on the river. My area was getting hit by a nor'easter, and the gusts were pretty strong. I said that a mobile home might not be the best place to be during such a storm. We also owned a much larger - and less rickety - house a little farther from the river. I returned to the larger house through the underground tunnel connecting the two houses (a totally normal thing to have on your property, after all).

While the BT Forums took a year-long nap, I continued to stick to my regular sleeping schedule. And I still had wacky dreams every once in a while! Many of them were quickly forgotten, but I remember a few of them.

Right after Christmas, I dreamed that I went to a Walmart Supercenter with a friend. I don't know why we chose this spot to hang out, since it's been quite a few years since I've been to a Walmart Supercenter. Either way, we arrived just as the store was opening. This was a very special Walmart Supercenter, as they wouldn't let you in unless you knew the special password. I'm sure all this was inspired by me playing a certain part of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, as well as learning that a hard-to-find item was only available at very specific Walmart Supercenters.

Later, I dreamed that I decided to turn over a new leaf by joining an amateur baseball team. Apparently I arrived very late for my first game - the game was in the fourth inning when I got there. I didn't even bring a glove! The game was played at a local park that has a lot of baseball fields, except much to my surprise, each field was surrounded by hundreds or even thousands of spectators. I have no idea why so many people wanted to watch amateur baseball, but it was very difficult to weave through the fans and make my way to the dugout. While the league was supposed to be for amateurs, one team had a very talented but also arrogant player who supposedly played in the big leagues years ago. (This guy might have been playing under a fake name - I don't know.)
