Download it here

I might as well create a topic here too for my main in-progress fangame. Mario has been kidnapped by a group of militant walruses and taken to a psychiatric prison, and he must escape and figure out how to save the world. This platformer is the first fangame to use New SMB Wii graphics.

Here's the NCFC booth, which has a lot of screenshots, as well as a way to download the now-outdated Version 0.45.

Version 0.74 is now available for download. There's finally a legitimate (albeit half-finished) map screen, and the title screen now has an option that brings us one of the greatest contributions to Western civilization ever.

If you want free access to all the levels, PM me or try to figure out the code yourself.

Will the enemies and Mario's sprites be changed to NSMB in later version(s)?

No, but depending on how motivated I stay, I may change the sprites to something else that would fit the tiles better.

That would probably make the game look 100 times better. You'd also probably get more positive feedback, since everyone seems tired of SMB3 sprites.

There are a bunch of sprites on the main site of NSMB styled enemies. I could probably make the walrus look more 3D if you decide to use them.

A quick edit of the Walrus to make it fit NSMB more. I also change Mario. Most/all the enemy sprites you use in the game are on the main site in NSMB style.

I'm still not sure if I want to go with NSMB style, though. There may be other options - possibly Teeks' sprites, for instance - that fit just as well in a true 2D game.

Teeks sprited Mario??

Oh, the colors weren't final by the way. I took them from the Goomba.

Since I haven't posted any indication of progress on Revenge of the Walrus lately, I am still working on this - I've just been busy procrastinating with other stuff. Dazzle might still be making a new version of the engine, but in case he doesn't finish it, I'm still working on the level design in the current lightly-modified DeeY Engine version. The renovated version may also use a higher resolution. Since I should have some time free next week, I hope to finish a bunch of new levels, especially the ghost house.

Also, tell me if anyone can come up with a Mario sprite that doesn't clash too much with New SMB Wii graphics - possibly something similar to Teeks' sprites.

Well, my laptop also had the new engine on it...

Making a re-made version of that before the NCFC is going to be tough, so I'd stay with your DeeY engine.
