FB3K: Nice song you posted, by the way.

Viva la Macarena.
Another version.

My professor played this song on his stereo before class on Thursday. I don't know why either - but it was kind of amusing. He also passed out cookies, which make everything better. :cookie:

As I watch the music video, however, I forget that booty-shaking did exist even in the 90's, contrary to my incredibly naïve perception that there was nothing sensuous on TV until the 21st century.

thanks bibby.

i also hate (read: love) you for reminding me of the macarena. it's like i'm seven years old and running windows 95 on my pc again. i've never heard the first version of the song you posted; it's pretty badass, though

as for right now, i'm listening to this song from the new guilty gear game trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PadE-2C4bP8

So what can be superior when compared with paying out half the price for brand name children?

wow, if brand name children are on sale, maybe i can stop buying all these cheap knockoff children

OK... even I'll admit that the Oakland Raiders' performance might be a valid reason to use the interesting words.

The perfect song for one of our favorite spambots. I think of 90's WGN baseball every time anyone mentions this show.

Speaking of the Cubs, WGN played this song during a broadcast a couple days ago. And no, I can't hear this one without reminding myself of Waligie.

Random stuff that had been sitting in Note.TXT for a while:

"Tom's Diner": The original MP3 file:

"All Star" by Smash Mouth: Mentioned in an e-mail I recently received ("recently" meaning "back in September"):

"March of the Kings": One of the less appreciated Christmas carols. I've always assumed that the theme song from Donkey Kong Country 2 was based on this:

thanks for bumping this topic, bibby. i was gonna do this myself, because i love this sort of topic

i'm a lapsed disgaea addict, but even when i was in the prime of my obsession with the strategy rpg series, i thought the music in the games was forgettable at best and downright lame at worst. whenever their music guy tenpei sato did a vocal theme, it kicked ass. this one doesn't actually have any words, but i think it still counts...

here's another one from the same guy, the theme song to disgaea 2. normally, the song you hear in the game is a minute long, but this cut is a lot longer and a lot better in my opinion. i think it's sung from the perspective of the girl in the dress, who's voiced by the girl in my avatar photo in the japanese version. certainly wouldn't mind meeting either of them under the mistletoe this year, that's for sure.

here's a 90s country song by clint black called killin time. i love both the echo-y, sort of slide-y guitar and the 80s-looking video equally here.

i was gonna post something else, but i forget what it was. probably something country. ah well, i'll probably be blowing this topic up later on posting about music

Trio II
Well, I dreamed I saw the knights
In armor coming,
Saying something about a queen.
There were peasants singing and
Drummers drumming
And the archer split the tree.
There was a fanfare blowing
To the sun
That was floating on the breeze.
Look at Mother Nature on the run
In the twentieth century.
Look at Mother Nature on the run
In the twentieth century.

I was lying in a burned out basement
With the full moon in my eyes.
I was hoping for replacement
When the sun burst thru the sky.
There was a band playing in my head
And I felt like getting high.
I was thinking about what a
Friend had said
I was hoping it was a lie.
Thinking about what a
Friend had said
I was hoping it was a lie.

Well, I dreamed I saw the silver
Space ships flying
In the yellow haze of the sun,
There were children crying
And colors flying
All around the chosen ones.
All in a dream, all in a dream
The loading had begun.
They were flying Mother Nature's
Silver seed to a new home in the sun.
Flying Mother Nature's
Silver seed to a new home.

Beautiful track here.

once again i have like five songs to post

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aINmJ5ieM6Y
i guess you guys caught me at a bad time on this one, haha. it's a pretty standard disco track, but the girl who sings it is cute

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7CspafvAui4
i didn't know it at first, but this song is about a real person, and the lyrics are replete with references to things she actually did. the song sort of evokes the hair metal sound of the eighties, which is about the only time metal was any good if you ask me

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRaWnd3LJfs
i know you're not supposed to like this sort of music if you're a geek, but i love the summery sound of this. the auto-tuning of adam levine's voice in this track also reminds me a lot of eiffel 65's oeuvre

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLSL80IH6dg
shadow warrior had a very good ambient soundtrack in the cd version of the game, but this track only showed up in the shareware version of the game, and i'm not sure why: it's a really good fusion of 90s grunge and pseudo-asian music.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iU9YM1Lfvt8
avenged sevenfold was never really that good before their most recent album, at which point they went a bit lighter and became a hell of a lot better.

see, i don't just listen to country

When I'm making games, I often like listening to game music. I prefer Sonic Generations because those songs feel fresh, yet nostalgic. Here are some songs I tend to listen to:

(I also used this one as the placeholder theme for my indie game)

Fireball3k: I needed to hear some 80's music and some Danish gunslingers!

I haven't actually played Super Mario 3D World, but I have been spending an awful lot of time listening to the official soundtrack lately. It's gooooood stuff.

Double Cherry Pass is pretty nifty:

"The Landing" from Final Fantasy VIII is an awesome song to listen to while doing otherwise boring work.

I don't remember what made me think of these two very random songs:

Johnny Rivers - Secret Agent Man: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6iaR3WO71j4
The Drifters - On Broadway: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJFYpVlIyqo
