I was going to use a MIDI of this song for a level in Mario vs. Windows 95. I still might, but I’d have to rewrite a lot of the game to do so

So what can be superior when compared with paying out half the price for brand name children?

OK... even I'll admit that the Oakland Raiders' performance might be a valid reason to use the interesting words.

"All I Wanna Do" by Sheryl Crow:

I heard this playing in the café at work yesterday. Classic Sheryl Crow music shows up pretty often there, though this might be an odd song to play at a workplace!

Lido Shuffle by Boz Scaggs. I'd heard this song a lot of times before I learned what it was called. Scaggs said he was inspired by a Fats Domino record to write this song.

Also, Groundhog Day by 1000mods. 1000mods rules!

Country Boy can Survive by Bocephus (Hank Williams Jr.)

Why? Because history repeats itself. The interest is up and the stock market's down, and you'll only get mugged if you go downtown.

Devil Calls my Name by Planet of Zeus. I looked these guys up and they're a Greek band. Between Planet of Zeus, 1000mods, and Nightstalker, a lot of my favorite hard rock bands are Greek.

Lunatic Harness by mu-Ziq. If I could beatbox this well, I'd never have to worry about money or women ever again... ok, maybe not

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9XDezON5Vv0

Lightyears Ahead by Dozer. This song contains the word f*** about twenty times, which is only part of why it's so good. Dozer is a cool band from Sweden, although I get the vibe from them that they'd be the kind of Euro a**h***s on the Internet who love calling Americans stupid and backwards despite being inbred dumbasses themselves. I'm probably reading that into them, though, so if for some freak reason they're reading this post, I still think they kick ass even if they are a bunch of douchebags.

Til Dawn by Asteroid. I think these guys are Swedish too, so they sound like Zeppelin with accents or something.

Dozer, again. The Hills Have Eyes

Brokenheartsville by Joe Nichols. Back when I used to listen to country radio in the car, I'd hear this song all the time without knowing who did it. Wheeler Walker Jr. probably hates this song, but that's okay, because I hate him, too.

Down the Road by C2C. Like every single country song released in the last twenty-five years, this ain't country. I disagree with that statement I just wrote on both counts, but does what I think make something actually country or not?

"Automation" by Allan Sherman. 60 years later, this song still strikes a nerve... despite being utterly ridiculous!

The original F-Zero jazz fusion album - until recently, I'd never heard of this. It seems the original F-Zero game had an official soundtrack with a jazz theme, which was an unusual (and surprisingly well-executed) choice. They recruited a number of big-name jazz musicians to collaborate on this project, which was also interesting. Good stuff. Very good stuff.

The Dark World theme The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. A few years ago, a guy named Jammin' Sam Miller recreated all the songs for the original DKC trilogy with much higher-fidelity instrument samples. I thought that project was really cool, and he recently finished doing the same thing with A Link to the Past. Needless to say, I was happy to see this happen!

"Color of the Summer Sky" from Secret of Mana. Sam's latest project is Secret of Mana, another excellent choice for a Super NES music restoration project. This song always makes me think of certain things... including Yoshi vs. Windows.

Imagine if Allan Sherman was writing back when the ENIAC was a thing. He's about 20 years too late, but it's always wild to hear about old computers. Automation is why I got fired and I'm out in the cold!

There's a replica of the Mario Kart 64 version of Rainbow Road in F-Zero X on the N64. It doesn't use this song in the normal version of the game you can get on N64, but I think they used this cut in the 64DD-based F-Zero X Expansion Pak.

Been watching loads of videos of people doing runs of the EarthBound randomizers they have out now. This song doesn't always show up in the randomizers where it does in the vanilla game, but it sounds like it would be the favorite song of a giant pile of vomit.

I've also been watching the 24 hour takeover of MTV that the Jackass crew did back in 2008 or so. They brought Dale Watson live into the studio to play this song, and it's about ol Johnny Cash.

Same artist, but this song is about Johnny Knoxville instead of Johnny Cash. The video features Knoxville and his family, too.

Another cut from the Allan Sherman album Vinny shared. (Its album cover is like the best ever.)

No, that's not a glitch. That's really what the song and artist are called, and I hope to God that this doesn't cause JaxBoards to blow up by pasting all that garbage in... but anyway.

This song's name and artist are a series of unintelligible symbols. It's by Kieran Hebden, an electronic artist who also goes by the name Four Tet. It's a d*** good track, in my opinion. Sounds like it could have been on some Nintendo 64 game back in the day.

What Does Your Soul Look Like, Part 2 by DJ Shadow. I don't know who DJ Shadow is, but Spotify has recommended some of his music to me. My favorite part of this song is the chill guitar loop that starts a few minutes in, but the whole thing is a trip.

"Does anyone remember who I am?"

Freek'n You by Jodeci. I don't know how you pronounce their name, but this is as good as it gets for R&B, in my opinion. If I mentioned that this song makes me think of Ronnie and his wife Angie, Vinny would be the only person who knew what I was talking about. (They're characters I created for something I never ended up writing.)
