I think scratch could be just the easy thing to make a game. But It Doesn't let me sign up. I typed everything but something is wrong with username thingy. I wonder what's going on? What do you guys think I should do.

There's a Mitchell already on Scratch, that's why it won't let you use the name. Try making something up, like Super Wombat. You don't have to use the same name everywhere. Just keep typing different names until it accepts one.
Also I don't think many people here or on MFGG use Scratch, so it's probably best if you just try to learn how to use it for about a month before asking questions. I'll tell you right now that Scratch can't really make huge games or animations (except you can remake Link's Awakening, I know that much), but it'll help you get the basics down. Good luck (Btw Bibby, it might be nice to have a pinned Help Topic in this forum.)

I've never used Scratch before, but from my understanding it's a lot like GM - maybe a little less powerful but slightly more user-friendly. It's not a bad choice for beginners, but don't expect to make the next Super Mario Galaxy in a day no matter what program you use. Also, I don't think anyone here is very familiar with Scratch and thus won't be able to help you with it the way they could help with GM.
And yes, I should get around to making a general help topic of some type for this forum.
Course clear! You got a card.

Since I recommended Scratch, I do believe I should know how to use it. And I do.
It's much, much easier than GM btw, just saying.
