- Easter eggs that appear when you play the game at a certain time or on a specific day
- 3D sounds that get louder when you approach the object creating the sound (like a car radio, or Saria and Ganondorf in Zelda 64)
- RPGs that don't take place in a fantasy version of circa-medieval/Renaissance Europe
- Games where there's a "deeper" relationship with NPCs, like in Majora's Mask. (Fujiko)
