So they're going to kill it and put it down. This is local to where I live. I'm opposed to killing it. It didn't kill people and they claim it would come back if they relocate it? Relocate it further away.

Ouch. I don't think killing the bear is the best answer - a relocation to somewhere far off (such as a special wildlife reserve thing or a zoo or something else like that) would be better if at all possible.

Agreed. It's not like it was eating humans or pets. I guess it's a bummer if you were one of those chickens, but it's not exactly abnormal for grizzly bears to kill those.

Bibby Agreed. It's not like it was eating humans or pets.Excuse me, but chickens are considered pets by some people. If the bear is intruding on human property without fear time and time again, I'd probably kill it. So, we have a deer that eats birds, a bear that kills chickens, and a chupacabra which drains the blood from its victims. What next, a bird that eats birds? Oh wait, add that to the list.

True, but it's also possible to relocate such an animal to a national park or other place that's a reasonable distance from human habitation.
