Isn't that exciting. Comcast had to replace the old one, which shorted out and made the phone stop working. This brand new model is allegedly a bit faster than the old one, but they're still doing weird stuff with the lines and such.
So what's up with the rest of you? Anyone doing anything slightly more interesting?

Define "interesting."
All I'm doing today is filling out stuff for college entry, adding SMB3-style to my Just for Fun game, and a bit of room cleanup. --- Edited by: Miles, Jun 28th, 2011 @ 1:45 pm |

Miles: Do you mind if I ask where you're going to college?
Fujiko: Good! You still sing stuff! That's actually one of your better efforts, I think, with or without the "accompaniment." The whole thing would sound nicer if you ran the song through Audacity's Compressor or Normalizer so the volume would be a bit more even, especially if you removed the click near the end.

Thank you! It's not so much that I spent effort, it's just that my voice has gotten better, I think. Apparently taking choir class improves your vocal technique, who knew?
That was recorded because I was bored, amused with myself knowing the words to Polka-O-Dolka, and having it jammed in my head, thus having to let it out somehow. I'm glad you like it! Sometime soon, I guess, I'll clean it up a bit and do the whole thing. |

Miles: Looks like a nice enough place, taking a glance at the Web site.
Fujiko: Yeah, taking choir definitely does help (assuming you actually practice, which I trust you do), and letting your voice mature a bit hasn't hurt either. The main problem is the higher notes are still a bit shrillish, especially compared to the sometimes-raspy notes in the lower end of the spectrum. I like your agility in hitting really fast notes, though, which is something that a lot of experienced singers have trouble with. The best advice I have is just keep practicing and you'll get better with this, and if there's a part that you don't like, you can always redo it or touch it up using a program like Audacity.

Well, I just did it for no real reason. Once I actually spend a bit of effort on it, I will work on making it sound good.
My shrillness is nothing compared to the original, anyways. ![]() Thank you! |

Fujiko: Well, the shrillness is a whole lot better than it used to be. It's rumored a certain forum administrator still has a copy of your 2009 rendition of The House of the Rising Sun in his rather extensive Weird Music Folder...
Miles: I suspect that I'll be doing some of the same kinds of stuff today you were doing, but I forgot to make an IMPORTANT.TXT file to make it sound more important.
