Small update:
mixing syrups and adding extra shots. 1.5 shots cola: actually tastes like Jolt Cola... Haven't had this in years.. Cola 1 shot + 1/4 shot lemon lime: This is interesting. just off from CocaCola... I might have better results if I had just lime... 2X lemon lime: ...way too sweet... perhaps if I go the opposite direction with this one. Using syrups for other purposes: Root beer in particular has made for an interesting ice cream topping. Lemon-lime taken as a straight shot (I don't recommend this if you are unprepared) is a tangy, neutral taste, I may explore the possibility of using this as a base for a barbecue sauce. Obstacles: Seems Cola Syrup is also sold as medicine. This has gotten in my way so many times in searches. I can't help but wonder if they are similar. Other: I can't believe this! There's a Pepsi-Cola bottling plant 1-city away! I may have to pay them a visit! |

Finally tried some of the seltzer flavors...
This...is an acquired taste... if you don't like straight carbonated water, then you likely won't like these to begin with. I would start with the pre-canned variants before attempting to flavor your own with a sodastream. the ratio is finicky, and unfortunately, I could not give you an accurate ratio, as everyone's taste is different. Grapefruit. Not bad, a bitter-citrus flavor... good with Vodka. Lime. This is pretty good, definitely a sour flavor. Might experiment further with this... maybe mix it with cola. Lemon. Ugh... there isn't even any sugar in this... why does it remind me of froot loops!? ...blegh... Raspberry. A mild, fruity flavor. almost sweet smelling, I like this one. Cucumber. ....I really don't know what I was expecting with this one... If it weren't a drink, I would suggest ranch dressing... not bad...just disappointing...Maybe if I mixed it with tomato juice... --- Edited by: The_Shadow, Aug 8th, 2020 @ 4:26 am |

Quick update:
Seems upgrades to my sodastream are gonna happen, like, real soon. After finding out that there is a welding supply outlet nearby (That, SOMEHOW, none of the stores I called knew about) I've decided to go forward with the following: CGA320 welding tank valve to Sodastream adapter hose (72 inches long) https://www.ebay.com/itm/72-SodaStream-Soda-Maker-Club-External-Hose-Direct-Adapter-to-CGA320-CO2-Tank/174351732318? 20LB CO2 welding tank equipped with CGA320 valve. https://www.ebay.com/itm/20-lb-New-Aluminum-CO2-Tank-With-Handle-CGA320-Valve-Homebrew-Fresh-Hydro/273032634823?epid=23032171762&hash=item3f920361c7:g:EOsAAOSw5cNYNdgb (due to lack of other possible links, I've gone with an ebay item I've been watching. the tank I'm planning to get, I can acquire locally) The tank is the main obstacle. once I have that, CO2 is cheap, being around $19.99 to refill the 20lb tank, as compared to the current cost of $25.00 per tank, to exchange a 1lb sodastream tank, or the $3.00 per lb to fill with dry ice. This is by a wide margin the least expensive way I can do this. --- Edited by: The_Shadow, Nov 12th, 2020 @ 4:19 am |

![]() It begins! ...the hose should arrive tomorrow. As a side, the manager at the place I got this thing from was quite helpful, and seemed to take in interest in this upgrade. More info if I Succeed/fail. --- Edited by: The_Shadow, Nov 14th, 2020 @ 1:39 am |

![]() ![]() ![]() Sodastream now has INFINITE AMMO! WOOHOO! Experiments to follow. Been doing some math (With a calculator, because I thoroughly suck at math) and I think I can use those frozen juice concentrates for soda syrup. I have an Apple Juice on hand. Here's hoping. --- Edited by: The_Shadow, Nov 15th, 2020 @ 4:37 pm |

Concentrate Apple Juice update:
This actually worked well. The result was just like those bottles of sparkling apple cider. All I did was use the concentrate, like it was a soda syrup, within the ratio I was able to come up with... One can, to one bottle, roughly. |
