It's the only piece of Wii "shovelware" I own, and yesterday was the first time I ever played it.

It is not the greatest game of all time. However, it's mildly fun when you're playing with someone else. The minigames I tried were at least playable, and they're accessible to players of varying skill levels. I'm sure I'll be playing it every day for hours on end for the rest of my life.

Or not. We'll see.

The game would've been more fun with Miis instead of the "make your own avatar" thingies with limited options. Also, all of the outfits available just scream "2008 MySpace profile picture"!

You can still buy it at Walmart for $48.99, which is probably more expensive than when it first came out in 2008. I have no idea.

Sometimes shovelware can be good though. it just depends on the audience that it randomly happened to land on.

It's hard to believe that Midway, one of the companies behind Mortal Kombat, did this.

i feel that way about a lot of the games that midway made, honestly. it's hard to believe you had ms. pac man and mortal kombat being released by the same publisher decades apart.

So what can be superior when compared with paying out half the price for brand name children?

wow, if brand name children are on sale, maybe i can stop buying all these cheap knockoff children

OK... even I'll admit that the Oakland Raiders' performance might be a valid reason to use the interesting words.

What's the story behind that being the only piece of Wii software you own? That's pretty interesting

He said it was the only piece of "SHOVELWARE" he owned. not "SOFTWARE"
There's a pretty big difference.

I am not completely sure whether Kesha/Mario is being facetious or not, but be careful if you're having any thoughts of blaspheming the names of Super Mario Galaxy and Donkey Kong Country Returns as "shovelware"!

My bad, I haven't heard the term shovelware in years so I just misread it as software. I really thought this was the only game you had for the Wii and was wondering what the story behind that was!

Ha, no worries. One of the biggest criticisms of the Wii was that a significant chunk of its library consisted of hastily-made games that pounced on the novelty of motion controls. Fortunately, there was some great stuff on the Wii - and Game Party 2 isn't the best game in my own Wii library!
