Those bubbles were the result of an experiment using Zinc Sulfide, mixed with clear coat.
I did find a bit late that it will glow better when you back it with a florescent color first, hence why the ring is so much brighter.
Information for the next time I try something similar.
I bet I could do some interesting things.

          Another thermochromic. The only actual difference between this, and the previous, is that the backing layer was blue this time around. However, I am quite happy with the results. |

        Yeah, this is actually a 3rd party replica. Tomee Zap Gun I think in this case. Took the time to refine my recipe for mixing up the thermochromic powder with a binder (Crystal clear krylon in this case). This is by far the best thermal reaction I've gotten with any mix. I'm keeping this one. |

        I immediately thought of Sword Quest and an Indiana Jones game when I saw that controller. Seems like it'd be very thematically appropriate, although the latter game would have required two now that I think about it. Good stuff, man. |
