You ever feel like, maybe, you don't exist?

I suppose that this could simply be just my current state of mind playing tricks on me.
Sometimes it just seems like, my efforts go unseen, my words fall on deaf ears.

Sure I have my friends, who would support me every step of the way on everything I may do, and for that I am ever grateful.
But, what of the rest of the world? Lately, it seems highly rare that I even attract a single response to anything I do.
Moving forward along the internet has yielded next to no results, and majority of any acknowledgment that I receive, is right here, on this very forum.

I only wonder: "What am I doing wrong?"

... really? That's what you call Guile?

it seems to me like you feel as if you need the approval of others before you can approve of yourself. is that an accurate assessment of the situation?

So what can be superior when compared with paying out half the price for brand name children?

OK... even I'll admit that the Oakland Raiders' performance might be a valid reason to use the interesting words.

Sounds about right I think.
It's not like I plan on doing anything extreme over this, don't get the wrong idea.

I'm just kind of at a crossroads of "Continue anyway" and "Is there a point to my efforts?"

well then, if that's so, then i'd ask you this: why do you need the approval of others to do what you do? i know that you are a great, empathetic person, one who is hardworking, intelligent, and skilled in what you do. i'm not just saying s*** to be saying it, i'm saying the things i know to be true about you. you should remember the positive things about yourself like that when you start to feel down, because there's no arrogance in being positive about yourself.

it took me a while to realize this myself, but things mean the most when you do them because you want to do them, not necessarily to get the approval of others. it seems to me that you are enjoying what you do with hardware mods, music, and games. i think that alone justifies the time you spend doing them, because if you don't enjoy what you do, then why do it?

it's really easy for me to say this given that i'm not in your head, but if other people don't appreciate you for who you are and what you do, then that's their problem, not yours. even if you didn't have the skills you do, you would still be of worth.

Mindy Kaling feels the same way.

But in all seriousness, I understand that feeling too. One of the problems with the Internet world is that often there's an inverse relationship between effort and response. In other words, things that you put a lot of effort into often wind up getting less attention than a silly thing you spent 30 seconds working on. And that's frustrating.

But as Fireball3k said, you're a really cool guy, and I enjoy looking at your music, art, hardware mods, and all the other cool things you do. Some of your hacking projects have gotten a solid number of Google hits, too.
Course clear! You got a card.

Yeah, you guys are right.
I shouldn't let something so minor wear on the back of my mind so hard. and it is clear that people DO see my stuff, so there is that as well.
I just got to looking at everything I had done, and the lack of activity, across multiple sites, just seemed depressing.
I guess I just let myself loose focus of the bigger picture.

Thanks guys, I'm feeling much better now.
