It's still very WIP, but here is what I have so far.
Effectively, something like Contra and Double Dragon.
Your goal is to complete one of two objectives in a given level. this objective can vary in nature, though the objective will play a large factor in your chosen path.
You can also choose your side by simply killing targets, be they demons, or humans.
Innocents are another factor, as there are some on both sides.
This function, if all goes according to plan, will have a high level of control, as well as the option to disable entirely.
Your goal in the demon path is to enslave humanity, so killing innocents can cause problems by nature of the storyline.
Options for this function will include Penalties to score, lives, credits, or reversing it to rewards, causing them to drop powerups, and adding to the score.
Weapons may include guns, swords, and makeshift weaponry (Such as using a flatbed truck for a club)
Collateral damage is inevitable, however some side bonuses may be awarded for damage caused VS damage prevented.
There is also a factor of rage.
Rage works in reverse to your current health, causing you to deal more damage, move faster, and when near death, unleash your ultimate power in "Demonic Rampage Mode" rendering you invulnerable for a short time, and largely increasing the radius of your standard attacks.
