These folks aren't fooling anyone here, but I feel that it's best to give you a heads up nonetheless.
This is just a random spambot that is apparently using my username, not uncommon really.
If you find anything from me that looks suspicious, unusual, or....^ THAT, block them, and report the scam.
They are not using my actual E-mail address to send from.

E-mail spoofing is still in a thing, although I don't hear about it as much as I did a few years ago. Unless they're automatically generating truckloads of fake e-mail accounts, it sounds like they're spoofing the "to" name in the "from" header.

Pretty much.

Could be far worse. They can do what was done to me and manage to steal your contacts list and sell it and the email address itself (to be spoofed, not logged in to) to various whoevers. So if someone spams under my address (regardless of the actual sending domain/address), Gmail users will even see my icon.

Two-step verification has since been added to it, though I don't plan to use the address for anything involving communication between me and other people - just other junk.
