Sanrio Hello Kitty is not a cat. She's a cartoon character. She is a little girl. She is a friend. But she is not a cat. She's never depicted on all fours. She walks and sits like a two-legged creature. She does have a pet cat of her own, however, and it's called Charmmy Kitty.I am highly traumatized by this revelation. I also wanted a chance to use this emoticon.

That one even made the local news for some odd reason.
So, what of the rest of the characters that she is seen with? I know them from stumbling across some games based on them on the Famicom, like the one in your avatar Bibby. |

This is absurd on so many levels. One does not simply say that an anthro is not a cat.

Nite: I think Keroppi the frog is still a human. I'm not positive about that, though! Sanrio is trying to throw all my assumptions out the window.
Forcer: Yeah, cartoons, both Western and Japanese, have a long history of using anthropomorphic animals. Hello Kitty's never been depicted on all fours, but the same could be said about scores of quadruped cartoon animals.
