This is a simple painting project, to make a purple Gameboy Color, have a holographic finish.
This takes a few steps, and I'm still waiting for the main part of this to arrive in the mail.
The main part being: The Holographic Paint and The Clear Coat.

For now though, we have the Gameboy, fully dismantled, with anything that could not be removed (The screen, and the battery terminals) covered and primed with a high gloss black.

Were you inspired by the various Game Boy Color design styles sold for a lot of $$$ before you decided to do this project?

Huh?

Money had nothing to do with this, besides getting the paints.
I just thought that it would be cool...

...Besides that, The holographic looked cooler than the cheap gold paint that I got.

Neat. I've always wanted to dissect a Game Boy, but I've never been able to find one of those triwing screwdrivers needed to disassemble it.

Thanks!

The tri-wing screwdriver is pretty cheap, I was actually lucky and found it bundled with 2 game-bits (Which work for other consoles such as the N64, SNES, and Sega Genesis)

Definitely something I would suggest getting if you need to do maintenance on your stuff.

I'm afraid that this project has taken an unfortunate turn, in light of an unexpected chemical reaction with the paints used.

It would seem that "High Gloss Black Krylon" is incompatible with "Holographic Spaz Stix" and "Spaz Stix Clear Coat".

The paint is already beginning to warp, and deteriorate.

My advice:
When multiple paints are needed, it is best to stick to the same brand, or start with a color that is identical to the base color needed, to possibly skip that particular paint.

Once I get my funding up a bit, I will give this another try.
