North Korea
Those who defamed our supreme leadership and committed the hostile acts against the DPRK can never escape the stern punishment to be meted out according to a law wherever they might be in the world.

Yep, someone's making a movie that hurt Kim Jong-un's precious little feelings, which is good news for us, because it means we get to hear another over-the-top monologue from the Supreme Leader!

(Personally, I'd feel honored if I did something that defamed his supreme leadership enough to make Kim want to declare war on me.)

i think i might have to go see this movie if it'll p*** ol' kim off, and it sounds like something i'd love besides

i also love how stupid the man looks in the new york times article, juxtaposed next to the guy they got to play him

So what can be superior when compared with paying out half the price for brand name children?

wow, if brand name children are on sale, maybe i can stop buying all these cheap knockoff children

OK... even I'll admit that the Oakland Raiders' performance might be a valid reason to use the interesting words.

Our dear leader is throwing a hissy-fit again.

Really though,
This is both hilarious, and terrifying at the same time.

On one hand:
We have him throwing a fit over something that is really common.

Really, movies about overthrowing those in power are all over the place, and world leaders are a prime target for the movie's "Bad guy"

On the other hand:
This guy has proven time, and time again that is a complete and total psychopath who will do anything to gain more power.

At the end of every year, I go through the topics I made, and this one is worth mentioning again! Apparently North Korea's definition of "stern punishment" is "hack into Sony's network and leak some sensitive documents" and "make vague terrorist threats against American movie theatres". I'm glad Sony ultimately didn't back down, since it's not good to yield to the (admittedly entertaining) threats from dictators and terrorists.

I love how North Korea considers making a movie to be an act of terror against them, even as they make their own threats against the West, including in their own movies, which glorify attacks on American cities while using plagiarized video game footage!

Yeah, that whole hacking thing actually seemed to have worked in Sony's favor anyway.

I mean, they canceled the screenings of the movie initially, and attracted far more than the initial audience that they had to begin with.

In addition to the initial audience of those who wanted to see the film, you also now have the rebellious, and the curious, among other groups that I'm not certain how to name.

With this, the profit margin for that movie has skyrocketed, and with the threats, the value of the film reels has also gone up, as it is being aired only in select private theaters.

Nite: Yeah, that's true. Scarcity makes things more expensive and more popular.

Fireball3k: I've seen some pretty crazy posts - not just on Tumblr, but on Twitter and even LinkedIn - trying to defend North Korea. These posters tended to be unaware of North Korea's human rights record and that North Korea has produced many films about blowing up Western cities, though.
