This game is for MGC #2 on MFGG using the theme: "Game Boy"

Just a credit screen, this appears before the disclaimer.

The title screen.

The Games list...

At the end of Day 1, I have gotten this far.
I should say that I have made some good progress at this point, having actually gotten the DMG effect to successfully live-render,
Getting the boot screen, credit screen, title screen, and game selection in place, and planning out 4 games that will work with this system.

Now comes the hard part.

Looking groovy. You could convince a lot of people that this is a real Game Boy game.
Course clear! You got a card.

The Gameboy-styled screen is just perfect, and, like Vinny said, it looks just like a real one. You must have put a lot of work into coding that.

Thanks guys!
And yeah, I have spent a very long time getting this effect to something that can be live-rendered. I figured that this comp would be a perfect test for applying this effect in a playable format.

It still has it's kinks though, mainly being that it renders camera-work nearly impossible due to severe offsetting.

I'll be honest, I see this causing a bit of confusion, as the dialogue assumes that it is being played on a real Gameboy, rather than the actual controls of the game.

So far so good here, the game doesn't start until you set fire to the castle, and you just keep breathing fire on it to gain points,
Where are the enemies, you ask? ...well... I'm having trouble figuring out who to use for the common enemy... (Toad?)
The rest takes minutes to do from that though.

For anyone who want's to give this a quick beta test:

http://www.mediafire.com/download/m1e332mxop8p0mu/DMG_arcade_test.zip
Remember: the controls noted refer to that of a real gameboy, and not the actual controls.
Z and X = A and B, and enter = Start.

Known problems:
Typo on the instruction screen for "Burn'em" ("Breath", instead of "Breathe")
"Dodge!" uses a placeholder text block, and has no gameplay.
All dialogue refers to that of an actual gameboy, and not that of the actual gameplay controls. (This is for effect, I won't fix this)

Nice GB effect, I love how even on my ancient computers that runs without any speed issues. Feels like it takes a long while to get to the game after the Nintendo power-on logo, but that's just me being impatient. The game select menu is pretty nice.

In Burn 'Em, if you stand right in front of the castle you can hold "B" and spam the jump button and you probably won't get got by a Toad until you hit 1000 (but it gets really fun at that point.) Bowser releasing his fire upon jumping makes the Toads from the right side almost completely ineffective until that point.

(d***, I was wondering if anyone would find that.)

Glad to hear that it runs smoothly, I was honestly kinda worried about that.

So what can be superior when compared with paying out half the price for brand name children?

wow, if brand name children are on sale, maybe i can stop buying all these cheap knockoff children

OK... even I'll admit that the Oakland Raiders' performance might be a valid reason to use the interesting words.
