For a 1-1, it starts to feel a bit lengthy just after the point where you introduce the first set of blocks that require you to hold jump for the entire length of the jump to get on top of, but that's probably just me. The minor difficulty ramp seems fair enough. I reckon it "feels" like a Nintendo-y 1-1.

Considering that I was combining the introductory elements of SMB, SMB3, and NSMB, yeah, you'll probably get that feeling that its a bit lengthy for a 1-1, but its necessary for me to be able to properly introduce recurring global elements like the ?-block and the midwaypoint.

I like the general vibe you've got going on. But some of the palette choices are disorienting. Typically, you want backgrounds to be darker than the foreground. However, the red in the paintings is brighter than all of the other colors in the room. It would look nicer if you toned it down.

Considering that SCORPION gave me permission to use the background, he did told me to remove the SCORPION paintings a few days ago, which I will do, but not for the reasons you mentioned.

I will also rearrange how the background is laid out. Hope there is a difference in quality.

The water in the background looks a lot like the actual water, so yeah, changing the background is a good idea.
