can slowing browsing speed a bit. Right afterwards I was unable to log onto any sites. Shut down, worked fine. Then this morning again unable to log onto any sites. Shut down and now working. Could deleting AdBlock have lead to a deluge of pop ups jaming the works in some way caused this problem? It's my brand spanking new Chromebook doing this. A friend told me when someone is trying to hack your computer it could freeze in this fashion. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I could just reinstall AdBlock and see what that would do.

Depending on what kind of content was actually being blocked with the popups.
From experience, I have found that having adblock enabled at all times produces a significant reduction in Adware, Spyware, Tracking cookies, and Misc. Viruses, that were able to get in Via website exploits. However, yes, Adblock does eat a good deal of system resources, and it has been known to cause some problems with certain websites, there is a fail-safe in cases like this, where you can disable Adblock for "That page only" As for hackers; It's a probability, but that just seems unlikely. My bet is that you just have a bunch of trash built up as a result of allowing popups, I would go through and clear your system Cache, and just to be safe, run a virus scan, and afterward a spyware scan, and just for good measure, De-fragment your Master HDD. |

Strange. AdBlock does decrease browsing speed slightly, but it also boosts security, since AdBlock does an excellent job of blocking malicious ads. If you have a reasonably fast computer, the performance impact might not even be noticeable.
Course clear! You got a card.

Monk Wait...you've always relished the chance to be a pain in mine???Monk you and I disagree because you don't know s***. Actually, I recognized years back how much insight you and Star had over an average fan like me. But I knew enough to tab Durant on draft day as the second coming which and after winning his fourth scoring title and being ranked a top defender I knows what I knows which is the forest for the trees. |

Does that make a difference as to what you're saying. Anyway, I deleted it. Had this freeze business I've described. So re-installed it and now working fine. |

It's just what they call the thing.
AdBlock and AdBlock+ are one and the same. Same browser, same developer, same function. Adblock+ is merely a more recent version. |
