A platformer I made back in summer 2009 with the horrid Hello Engine 3 (do NOT use this engine, especially the 2009 version of it, under any circumstances! Trust me on this.). The original game has 20 regular levels and 8 "secret" levels (which are admittedly a lot more interesting than the regular levels). This 2014 update adds Windows 8 compatibility, Stop 'n' Swop goodies, a less stereotypically Hello-y HUD, a marginally better save system, and an actual incentive to collect the four "super" items (if you find one, it'll randomly appear in the regular levels as well, not just in the secret levels, and there's an SnS variable for that too). I did my best to address everything that people complained about when the game was first released, and I've made numerous other tweaks to the mechanics and enemy behavior, intended to make the game fairer and more fun. Personally, I think Mario's Steroid Adventure is a lot less interesting than Aventura de Luigi, an even older game I renovated a year ago, but if you're feeling the munchies for slightly generic platformers, this game might hit the spot.

As usual, please let me know if anything's glitchy or unfairly difficult or otherwise worth changing.

IDK if its intentional, but the player is stuck there with no way out.

Congratulations! You're the first person that I know of to find the hidden room. This place contains nonsensical messages and is modeled after a similar room in another one of my earlier games. There's no way out, but since you can save after every level, you won't lose any progress. It's also rumored that there's a Stop 'n' Swop secret unlocked by entering this room.

Actually, I knew of it for a long time since you released the first version. Its only now that I brought it up.

Oh, and BTW, I reached to the first Hammer Bros, after beating it and a save prompt came, pressed it waay too fast, and then the hammer bros. on the map screen did not disappear, as I am now stuck in an infinite loop battling them, win, save prompt, lose, straight to the battle.

I believe you should borrow the HE5.1 code regarding this for a possible fix.

Thanks for the bug report. I fixed it in the newly-uploaded version. It was actually a very simple fix: all I had to do was slow down an alarm event by a single step so that the "obj_mapbro" would disappear when it's supposed to. I have used bits and pieces of the HE4 code while upgrading the game from GM7 to GM8, since the old HE3 code is extremely convoluted and difficult to understand.
