Are the flowers on the mountain a reference to something? They look familiar, but my brain is drawing a blank. Either way, I like the way they turned out.

I've actually heard of it referenced so many times, I have no idea who did it first.

What comes to mind though, is a random item in YS3 when you are thrown into the lava zone.
If you have no medicinal herbs in your inventory, you can find one growing in the rocks on the far left side of the map.
This may have been done to compensate for the relatively sharp jump in difficulty for this area.
A bit of a stretch from the picture in question, but it's just one reference.

Quite a pretty place! Looks like the background of a postcard.

It would look even more spectacular if you increased the contrast and saturation a bit so that there's less fuzziness around the trees and the top of the sun. Maybe something like this, which I did with the Sharpen Landscape tool in Paint.NET.
