i look at this picture and hear slide guitar music in the background. imagine like the soundtrack from the first three episodes of mythbusters, and you'll have what i'm thinking.
did you get inspiration for this from somewhere in real life?

Friendly Dictator So what can be superior when compared with paying out half the price for brand name children? wow, if brand name children are on sale, maybe i can stop buying all these cheap knockoff children Bibby OK... even I'll admit that the Oakland Raiders' performance might be a valid reason to use the interesting words. |

Kind of yes, and no.
I have seen similar locations, as well as certain elements that were used in this. Though the actual location is fake. The mountain range is actually based on two locations, which exist several miles apart from eachother. And the creek, was entirely spun out of mind from several that I've seen in the past. All actual real aspects were done out of memory to boot, so there is truly no telling how accurate such really is, as my memory becomes foggy really fast, and I tend to lose touch with reality when seeking memory reference. |

The sketch is a nice start. Is this based on someplace near where you live, a photo, or is it something you came up with in your mind?

How did you make that? If it wrapped smoothly, that would be a really cool background for a game.

Well, I tried a different technique than normal.
I'm sure that you have figured out that this is actually the sketch I posted previously. Every color used in that painting was blended from at least 3 colors. all of which included Midnight Black, and Prussian Blue. The sky was done with a swirl effect, where I started with one color, and blended in another on the canvas, and got lighter approaching the moon, Seeing the overall results, I tried similar with the mountains, and the front rock wall, with some interesting results. The waterfall, started with a mix of Midnight Black, and Prussian Blue, and smeared some Titanium white in it for the reflective effect, to make it appear to be reflecting the moon. The tree's were made with a different technique, utilizing a mop brush to paint the trunks, and the leaves. After all of this was done, and while the paint for the tree's leaves were still wet, I outlined select areas with Titanium White with a fine tipped brush. Any details that I found that might be reflecting moonlight got this outline. Effectively making a mistake on the trees, I found that the fine tipped brush make excellent leaves in the trees, so I blended a certain amount of Titanium White into the wet paint that existed there. The end result, I am quite proud of. I think that this will make an excellent gift for a friend of ours who lost their house in the fire. |
