Tried touching up the bird, in light of feedback received on MFGG.

I tell ya, photorealism is a pain in the rear when you ae stuck with a #2 pencil.

This is true.
I think that I'm going to re-assemble my old artwork kit, since it would seem that I have improved greatly at this over a few years ago.

Okay, I'm currently at home, with most of my artwork tools, (I cannot find my graphite pencil set for some odd reason)

Anyway, I just picked a random soda can, and tried drawing it.
Keep in mind that the contrast has been adjusted on this image to counter how light the pencil lead is.
The pencil is in view to help give an idea how hard I had to adjust the contrast to make this more visible.

Looks good, man, looks good. Shape's a little wobbly at the bottom, though, and the random dark area above the logo seems odd - was this a slightly dented can?

I thing that a lot of that showed up as a result of the shininess of the pencil lead, the camera flash, and the contrast adjustment. (Also, fingerprints on the paper I think.)

Not many options when the image is so dang light.
(Not to say that I didn't make several mistakes in making this)

Hey, I finally expanded my artwork set, I know that this still isn't perfect but:



Added charcoal for the darkest areas.

Oil pastels.
This view is seeable from the front porch of the place I'm taking care of. (albeit a far stretch from reality)

Neat! Did you look at a photo reference, or did you just paint what you saw from the porch? Either way, that looks like a beautiful place to hang out.
