For the second week in a row, guard James Harden is the best in the West. “He is ridiculous right now,” forward Chandler Parsons said. “He is playing out of his mind, shooting the ball, driving, playing good defense. Harden on Monday was named the NBA’s Western Conference Player of the Week for the second consecutive week and fifth time in his career.
Harden, 24, is the first player in Rockets history to win the award in consecutive weeks within a season. Tracy McGrady earned the honor for the final week of 2006-07 and was the first winner in the 2007-08 season.

Harden averaged 30.3 points, 6.8 assists, 5.3 rebounds and 2.5 steals as the Rockets went 4-0 with home wins over Miami, Indiana and Portland.

He started the week with 21 points and a game-high 11 assists in a 106-103 win over Miami. He then scored 25 of his 31 points in the second half of a 101-89 comeback victory at Orlando. He added 28 points and three steals in a 112-86 win over Indiana. He capped his week with 41 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and six steals in a 118-113 OT win over Portland.

Harden joined Michael Jordan as the only players since 1985-86 to record a game with at least 41 points, 10 boards, six assists and six steals.

Note, no one ever hoisted a trophy based on player of the week. No banner, no parade.

Also, there is only one person in the solar system that compares Harden to Bron.

Harden's mom knows better, Harden's girlfriend knows better.... Harden knows better.

Just you... and possibly Corky from "Life Goes On."

On the three biggest arguments you wrong on all: Pete Carroll (which you actually conceded, BEFORE they won the Superbowl; Durant; and Harden whom you compared to Kevin Martin saying they wouldn't miss him much. That's my response sucka!

In case Monk ain't be watching, Harden can score from anywhere, strong going to hoop in the Bernard King mold, accumulates loads of assists, a fierce rebounder and defender. Harden joined Michael Jordan as the only players since 1985-86 to record a game with at least 41 points, 10 boards, six assists and six steals

I think that's great... when did they plan the parade in Houston for one game and one week accomplishments? I mean... there must have been a ceremony...right.

Melo earned the player of the week too... and...still, it means nothing in the big picture. Neither is touching jewelry.

Just like MVPs.... Bron has four... Harden has as many as I do and you can't tell the difference... on that note I agree because the NBA acknowledgements are trivial.

And finally, you are a fan of four of the top 8 seeds... you act as if you played roulette and won when you really just bet black and covered a lot of the table.

You know I've been a Warriors fan near my whole life. Saw them beat the Bullets in '75 for the title at the Cow Palace. You live by some weird ass deal thinking there's something wrong with liking several teams. WTF? There's some great teams out there. I guess you just don't notice them.

I notice them all, they beat my team.

I on the other hand don't hail victories as a sports fan when players and teams for 1/4 of a conference succeeds.

You brag when Houston, OKC, GSW, LAC...(am I missing anyone?) do well.

You're a Warriors fan... but as a fan of 15% of the league you have an awful lot to celebrate.
