"I clean my gun and dream of Galveston." Glen Campbell's anti-Vietnam war song "Galveston" written for Campbell by revered song writer Jimmy Webb. Those boys, brought home in body bags, near 60,000 of them, were so young. |

The Boxer Still a man hears what he wants to hear And disregards the rest Asking only workman's wages I come looking for a job But I get no offers, Just a come-on from the whores on Seventh Avenue I do declare, there were times when I was so lonesome I took some comfort there " I was cut until I cried out, but the fighter still remains." This whole song feels like a biopic of a weary young man within five minutes. Rarely is a song about someone so complete. The lyrics are poetry of the highest degree; never fails to chill me and make me misty-eyed. Here's to you, Simon and Garfunkel. Guigley 4 months ago 3 ![]() |

Now the first of December was covered with snow And so was the turnpike from Stockbridge to Boston Though the Berkshires seemed dream-like on account of that frosting With ten miles behind me and ten thousand more to go James Taylor, "Sweet Baby James" |

This Alchemy Live London performance by Dire Straits is the absolute greatest version of Sultans of Swing. Mark Knopfler's guitar work is nothing short of beautiful, especially around the seven minute mark. Lots of amazing guitarists last 30 years, Knopfler right at the top. Read an interview where he credited his playing to taking his guitar with him everywhere as a young man and being left handed playing a right handed guitar made him much stronger on the frets. Interesting insight I think. |

"Rosalita" -The Boss-Absolute best version of this song. Live performance and at the end the "ladies of Pheonix" jump Bruce on stage in a very cool finish. |
