They don't talk hoops and it certainly hasn't been a warm welcome. Of course heyhey is here and we've all been talking away for years. Any thoughts?

I thought Monk was great in trying to straight s*** out, but I don't know. Hiphopcr got hassled but I don't think it bothered him that much. But what's the point at being somewhere discussion is inhibited by bad vibes.

I can't speak for other folks, but I know next to absolutely nothing about sports of any sort, so that might be why your topics haven't gotten a lot of replies.
And I'm pretty sure your welcome was pretty warm. I mean, there was that thing with Nite, but besides that... On a vaguely related note, may I advise toning down the amount of topics you create? Now, I'm not trying to imply anything rude, but perhaps making topics that are a bit more "general purpose" might help you get more replies.

I'm just going to wait on what Hiphopcr and Monk do. |

I'm a sports fan, but as far as basketball is concerned, I'm more into college hoops than the NBA. Other than a few people from OT Sports or other JaxBoards, just about everyone here is someone I know from a game-development forum I help run, and most of those are artist or gamer types who aren't big sports fans.
With all the competition these days from bigger, better-promoted, profit-oriented "social media," independent forums can often benefit from a de facto merger - adding active members can cause a multiplicative or even exponential increase in activity. But it's also true that this forum has a very different user base and culture from OT Sports, and I can understand how you might feel out of place, or how a few tensions could occur between the new members and the existing users. If you think it's best to leave, that's all right - I understand. If you'd like to discuss anything, please let me know - I'm fairly active here, and you can also use the IM system, AIM, or (when it's not broken) Skype if you'd prefer to talk in private. Just let me know how I can help.
Course clear! You got a card.

I like this place. I like the new blood, and I like the art/game side of things too but that's a personal thing.
Maybe set up a specific forum for sports talk where Ty can rule the roost? |

I will say I am slightly wary that some of the avatars here are of ponies and other random animals. Have we stumbled into a nest of furries? Ah well, don't knock it til you try it!
