I've recently contemplated getting myself a Twitter account, but after a chat with Nite some days ago, I'm not so sure.
It seems like it would be useful, but talk about security concerns leaves me a bit hesitant.

Would any of you say this was a good idea?

If you think you'd use it, Twitter is a fun way to share things and keep up with what's happening. Its security is quite flimsy - several people I follow have had their accounts hacked by bots - so if you make an account, be sure to use a strong password.

I am a teacher... I don't friend my current or former students on Facebook but on twitter i will because I so rarely tweet.


I find it to be more silly than Facebook but they're both silly.

Twitter is awesome as a consumer. I subscribe to a few things i care about (CNN, fantasy football, Lakers, low air fares @airfarewartchdog, and cheap video game deals) and whenever something pertinent pops up I get a text message about it.
