Yesterday I had the opportunity to fondle an iPad for the first time. My initial thoughts were "This thing is kind of nifty" and "This thing is kind of nifty but I can't think of a place where I'd need one in real life."

Random rambling aside, I've been wondering about something: How do JaxBoards forums look on mobile devices? It's taken me a while to accept this, but I've finally realized that a lot of younger folks (and some not-so-young people, too) don't even use PCs any more. Mobile optimization is a big thing now, and lack of mobile support is one reason why traditional forums have fallen by the wayside in recent years. While JaxBoards looks OK when I've loaded it on different PCs and browsers, I've been wondering about how well it works on mobile devices: cell phones, tablets, MP3 players, and so forth. If anyone here is feeling hopelessly bored and has access to a mobile device or two, I'd love it if someone could load a few different skins and critique their appearance and functionality.

(But if you have better things to do with your time, like drinking a cold Cheerwine, go right ahead, as I'm not under the delusion that this forum - or any another JaxBoard - will suddenly attract thousands of members just because I find a way to optimize it for your Android phone.)

after trying out an assortment of skins, all of them look alright on my ipod touch. the poutine and gridiron skins had their banners up top show up a little too big for the screen, but that's not a big deal since the majority is viewable just fine. the one problem i noticed with all of them was how small the text was. that makes it somewhat awkward to navigate, since you have to touch small text to follow a link.

i normally browse forums like this and mfgg on a desktop, but it would be cool if there was a mobile skin for this forum.
