This somehow won the most recent Minigame Competition on MFGG. Thanks for the votes and the comments.
The laptop that held the GMK file perished the day after I finished this game. Since I compressed the .EXE out of habit, I couldn't decompile it even if I wanted to. While laptop hard drives have a knack for being incompatible with desktop PCs, I was able to connect the drive to another computer after buying a special adapter. Fortunately, I was able to recover the handufl of files I hadn't backed up - in particular, this game.
I doubt I'm going to turn this into a bigger project, but you never know! If this became a full-length RPG, perhaps you could even seek promotions if you play your cards right. Of greater interest is the specialties available if you profess to be a violent felon at the beginning of the game and continue to make in-game choices that push you toward the dark side: You might become a White-Collar Criminal or even a Mafia Kingpin or Recreational Substances Logistics Specialist (a.k.a. drug dealer), to the benefit of your attack power and the detriment of your reputation and your ability to work with the other members of your party. Some of the other shadier promotions might include:
Again, I doubt I'll expand this concept, but I'm throwing these ideas out in the open just in case anyone wants to help.
Course clear! You got a card.
