Fun Fact: Of the 80 real users on this forum (excluding the adbots and duplicate/flood accounts), we have 55 from the United States, 6 Canadians, 3 each from Australia and the Netherlands, two British members, and a pair of Italians. The lonely nations of Chile, Finland, Germany, India, Indonesia, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, and Tunisia are represented by only one user each. The proportion of international members has increased slightly since the start of 2012.

If you don't like this ratio, you can start inviting new members or naturalizing people, or you can immigrate (legally or otherwise) to a distant land or something.
Course clear! You got a card.

If only I had enough money and was not illiterate in a certain language. Then I'd probably be working in a far off land.

... really? That's what you call Guile?

the nationality ratio is more or less what i'd expect. the only thing i'm surprised about is how few british members there are.

i'd do something about the nationality ratio, but i'm too proud to be an american to live anywhere else!... and i don't know nobody outside of america, haha

Friendly Dictator

So what can be superior when compared with paying out half the price for brand name children?

wow, if brand name children are on sale, maybe i can stop buying all these cheap knockoff children

OK... even I'll admit that the Oakland Raiders' performance might be a valid reason to use the interesting words.

It's an interesting pattern but I've noticed that when the main Administrator of a forum is Australian then a big portion of the members will always be Australian. Any other forum will be inundated with Americans regardless of where the Admin is from.

The only exception is when the forum is targeted for a specific region.

I don't think the region of your members is all that important. Just be welcoming and open minded to other cultures. Also, if you're keen for International members, avoid using American-specific jargon. Eg: Saying 'Eastern Time' (or similar) as a timezone. I live in Eastern time. I know I am not in your timezone. Give GMT or UTC, please.

FB3K: I've always found our lack of British members to be surprising, too. The only ones we have are Armonius/Flametale and DistantJ, and neither posted very much.

Fanta: Yeah, that often seems to be the case, especially if you promote your forum with people you know in real life. One of the more international-friendly features of JaxBoards is it automatically detects your timezone, instead of assuming you live in GMT or in the North American Eastern/Pacific tiemzones like a lot of other forum software.

The thing is, I don't promote it with people I know IRL. :P They just radiate towards it, like a bug and a beacon.

Also, the auto-detection is neat. I think MyBB does the same upon registration but I'm not 100% sure.
