My question here: Should/Could/Can I use this for making games? Would it be a smart thing to do? I'll propably use it anyway since I'm really stubborn, but I really need your opinion. Thanks in advance!

All-righty, here's the thing: I've met some new people at school, and they where able to get me a not-so-legal copy of Game Maker: Master Collection. Yes, the 500$ one. It works, being able to compile everything and such.

Well if you're stubborn and might use it anyway, whatever will be will be. =P

As for if it'd be a smart thing to do, that depends on how (if) they enforce stuff and if you have plans to sell anything you make with it. I have no idea so that works so I don't know if it'd be easy to get away with doing all these special things or if it'd automatically rat you out and kill your copy or something. |

I hope it doesn't do that, yeah. I'll fool around with it some more, maybe post a game or two in HTML5 here for fun, see if it works.

I wouldn't use it for something you intend to sell,

such would be a biiiig "Hell no!" but, for fan games and such, if you can use it, you should use it. |

I have a question relating to this - Would it be legal to use a pirated copy of Game Maker 8.0 pro to create a game you intend to sell if Game Maker 8.0 pro is no longer available for purchase anywhere officially?

Technically that person couldn't as they don't have an actual liscence, but you can't really sell gamemaker 8 games anywhere.

I can't say I really support this sort of thing, but I would love to see how the HTML5 games work sometime. If you're going to use it, I'd only use it for freeware games, and I'd be wary of updating it, lest YYG convert all your sprites to Jolly Rogers.

I'm experimenting a lot with the new stuff in GM:Studio, so bare with me on a SM:TLS HTML5 Release!

I'm not hugely familiar with Game Maker (haven't touched it in about 5 years), so what functionality in the Master version does your project need that you can't get from the free version?
