Listening to that made me feel much, much more Japanese.
Also, does this count? I check this page every week, and this stuff helps fuel my soundfont addiction. Specifically, I just downloaded some good-looking FF10 songs and some iffy-looking SMB remixes.

Be careful with those soundfonts...
![]() As for me, I'm not listening to Inuko Inuyama. I'm certainly not scooping up her Pokemon image songs like candy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TAPOIyQma3k Annoying, huh? I'm also not listening to her not awesome Shaman King image song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7IfACPT0R8M No way. As well, I'm not listening to the songs she did with former P-Model member Teruo Nakano, and I'm not baffled by the apparent fact that every member of Japan's pop culture industry was a Technopop singer in the 80's or 90's. Also not baffled by: The fact that the voice Inuko uses for Meowth is actually very close to her normal speaking voice. Not at all. I also don't want her album, Inu Cafe, and am not dying because I can't find it online anywhere. That means I want you to buy it for me. |

I love The Mops~
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PKiTWRxeTo This is Blind Bird (Please Kill Me). One of my favorite songs of theirs, as good as and better than most any American or English band, I tell you. This happened to be excluded from the Japanese remasters due to the troubling lyrics. Certainly, when dealing with Japanese Psychedelic Rock, these guys are the best. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KASjQSKbiE8 This is Asamade Matenai, otherwise known as I Can't Wait. It's the first track of their first album, Psychedelic Sounds In Japan. Kind of a bad name for the album, I guess, but it does describe the contents. They were really big fans of The Animals, Jefferson Airplane, and other American bands of the sort. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-RRe1WXe-U An energetic cover of Somebody To Love, by Jefferson Airplane. I love this song so much, and The Mops' arrangement is very good! They were, unfortunately, at the tail end of the GS (Group Sounds, like Beat Music) boom, and far behind the rest of the world, so they only have this one Psychedelic album. Their next one was Heavy Metal! In Japan, that's called New Music. Most GS bands had to either transform themselves into New Music the second the year 1970 hit, or become unpopular and break up. Most people there at the time didn't really pay attention to Rock music. Only teenagers listened to GS, the parents hated the noise and the presentation of the musicians, long hair, etc. Similar to America in the 50's. The GS boom faded in 1969 because the girls who like it decided it wasn't cool anymore, and the boys wanted something like what the English and the Americans were doing. To tell the truth, most GS was kind of soft. They still carried the strings and overproduction of Pop music. Other types closer to American Garage Rock and Psychedelic existed, of course, but companies didn't want to take risks. The NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corps.) only wanted to show "nice, normal boys with short hair", so most bands who wanted to imitate The Beatles and such didn't get any airplay. For GS, I like The Rangers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W33_hOsBtcA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhXiG76ysNI I really like Hiroshi's voice! Reminds me a bit of Roger Daltrey. This band is called "cult GS" now. I think their songs are very good, and the vocals are really different compared to pretty much any GS band. Anyways... I'm done with my lecture. Sorry, this was too long! I'll have to make a topic for these kinds of things, if anyone is at all interested in me rambling on and on about "grandma music". I get carried away easily~ |

The world's four most random songs I listened to two days ago - two related to the Top Ten I wrote and two completely unrelated:
And right now, Octopus's Garden. Playing that Waligie 3 beta made me think of Physco Waligie and forced me to listen to this.

These guys are The Captains. I love it when I find people who are bigger nerds about 60's music than I am. Even better if they form a band! Also related: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMnCD53P004 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDRQajgohyE I love The Bawdies! They are so adorable, and their songs are really good. Roy, Taxman, Jim, and Marcy... Roy has an interesting voice... And Marcy is an odd case in that, for once, the drummer is the cutest band member. You don't see that everyday. Although, he's had an extremely unfortunate haircut recently. ;3; |

Fujiko: Those songs you posted are a suitable substitute for Red Bull.
Even if Emily isn't going to amount to much, "There's a Bathroom on the Right", I mean, "Bad Moon Rising," remains the ultimate tropical weather song.

That must be why I have trouble sleeping!
So, I've finished catching up with MS Paint Adventures, and I really enjoyed the whole thing. Problem Sleuth is my favorite part, but of course all the fandom focus in on Homestuck. That's totally fine, but I'm just saying... Anyways, me being Fujiko, I spent a few days staying up really late and reading Boy's Love fanfiction. How late did I stay up for the past two days? Until 3 in the morning. How was that, huh? But yeah, that's the truth. Anyways, my favorite characters are the Midnight Crew, of course! As well, Drawing Dead is my favorite Homestuck album, I think. I love this song especially! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAlt8IgOgPQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GqKvmyPhUf8 I highly suggest the whole album. Well, I highly suggest getting all the Homestuck music, even if you don't read the series. Hey, that's how I started. Anyways, something not Midnight Crew related: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CXPFtkMnvH0 I love this one~! And to end off, here's an old song I can't get out of my head now: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C8VQArh5CGU |
